My Kitchen Rules star Monzir Hamdin is in hospital and lucky to be alive after suffering a freak accident.
The star, who won My Kitchen Rules last year with girlfriend Janelle Halil, shared a photo of himself receiving treatment on Tuesday.
Monzir had his face heavily bandaged as he told his supporters that he will have to cancel all upcoming appearances.
“Unfortunately, Monzir had an unfortunate accident and is currently hospitalized,” the message begins.
“He unfortunately will not be at the Cake Bake Sweets show this weekend nor will he participate in the show as planned.”

“We are so grateful that he is still here with us and slowly recovering,” Janelle Halil (right), Monzir’s girlfriend, wrote in the post.
Although they did not share details of the accident, the two said they were glad the famous chef was still alive after the accident.
“We are very grateful that he is still here with us and is slowly recovering,” they said in the post.
“We are not yet sharing many details about the incident, so please request privacy at this time.”
The couple’s supporters immediately wished Monzir a speedy recovery.
The couple, who were stars of last season, won the $100,000 prize last year.
‘Sending lots of prayers and healing vibes Monz. Get well soon buddy,” one fan wrote.
“I wish Monzir a speedy recovery,” added another.
“Sending you love, I hope you get better soon!” yet another wrote.
The couple took home the $100,000 prize after winning the competition last year, with both men telling Daily Mail Australia they split the money.
“My money was cut in half and Janelle bought a car with it. So she invested $25,000 in a car and the remaining $25,000 in a deposit for a house,” Monzir said in August.
“For my part, I did half for the house and the other half for the business. Which I built from scratch because it cost a lot of money.
Janelle went on to say that this couple “used it wisely,” wanting to be “smart,” instead of just wasting their nest egg.
The couple now run Monzelle, which offers cookbooks and Monzir’s Agashe Sudanese spice blend, as well as pop-ups at food festivals.
