One of Australia’s leading showbiz players has slammed “stupid” rumors surrounding Hugh Jackman’s split from wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

Talk to 6PR Breakfast with Millsy and Karljournalist Peter Ford has dismissed the wild theories circulating about the couple’s split and shared his opinion on the real reason they split.

“It’s not the rarest scenario for a couple in their 50s or 60s that once the kids are released, they decide that the glue that held it all together is no longer there and we’re going to go down different paths separated.”

He added: “Some of the things I read this weekend are just too stupid.

“I keep reading this story where someone said ‘the cracks were starting to show’ when Deborra-Lee was never at rehearsals for The Music Man. Why would she be? She wasn’t in there!
