WWE is reportedly “working on a deal” for Cristiano Ronaldo to appear at its Crown Jewel show in Saudi Arabia on November 4, according to reports.

This year’s Crown Jewel will be the fifth edition and tenth event overall following WWE’s lucrative deal with Saudi Arabia.

However, WWE is looking to make this year’s event even more special by involving the Al-Nassr striker.

Ronaldo wouldn’t be the first professional footballer to compete in WWE as several famous faces have braved the canvas before him.

Former Norwich striker Grant Holt, Germany goalkeeper Tim Wiese and former Wycombe Wanderers striker Adebayo Akinfenwa have all featured.

According to ASWWE is working hard behind the scenes to ensure Ronaldo is a “superstar guest” at Saudi Arabia’s Crown Jewel event in November.

The report states that Ronaldo would receive a “significant appearance fee” if he agreed to take part in the showpiece event.

WWE also believes that Ronaldo’s presence at Crown Jewel would increase his revenue for the show as a whole.

Wrestling journalist Sean Ross Sapp added further speculation by tweeting the following: “I asked WWE about the rumors regarding Cristiano Ronaldo-WWE appearances, and they had no answer.”

Meanwhile, NXT star Apollo Crews believes Ronaldo could forge a career in wrestling after calling it quits.

Speaking to the Metro, Crews said: “Honestly, with that mentality of being a top athlete in the world at that level, I think just with that mentality alone he would have succeeded.

“When you start the physical part, it’s a different story, though, for most people. But again, (he’s) a world-class athlete, so I wouldn’t forget him.
