An influential bride has been accused of putting her guests’ lives at risk after covering up ‘ugly’ exit signs at her reception in order to maintain the perfect aesthetic.

Fashion influencer Brigitte Bahl39, took to the streets of New York to tie the knot with her husband, Texas-based plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Chiodo.

The bride was praised for her iconic style which saw her and her guests dine on the streets of Soho, travel across the city on a tour bus and take part in a stunning rooftop ceremony.

However, Bridget’s attempt to turn her special day into a scene from a movie backfired when her TikTok followers noticed she had hidden the exit signs at her wedding, which took place at the Plaza, because they were “ugly” – prompting many people online to criticize him for caring more about “aesthetics” than the safety of his guests.

Over the past two weeks, Bridget has shared a slew of videos that capture her glamorous wedding.

In one of the clips, which has so far garnered more than 1.2 million views, Bridget twirled down the cobbled streets of Soho in her vintage Christian Dior dress.

The lavish bride showed off her elegant rehearsal dinner, which included a white table with white flowers and plenty of seating in the middle of the street.

Fans gushed over her dream wedding after watching other viral videos touting her ceremony and featuring a touching group prayer, birds and more.

However, when Bridget shared a clip of herself in her wedding venue, she was blasted by her followers.

She bragged about her decision to hide all the emergency exit signs to keep with the theme of her wedding.

The bride called the safety signs “ugly” and used a copper plate to cover them.

In the video, which she has since deleted, she said: “I covered up all the ugly red exit signs to save the wedding photos.”

The bride captioned the clip: “Probably not up to code.”

Despite the video’s quick removal, users of the video-sharing platform were quick to put it together and share their thoughts, including a photographer.

Vermont-based photographer Madison Anne shared her reactions to the safety violation.

“Literally speechless, and I promise you, exit signs aren’t a big deal (for photographers to edit images),” she captioned the clip.

In the video, she showed how “easy” it was to edit wedding photo exit signs.

She added: “Imagine investing in a good photographer instead of breaking safety codes.”

Another user, who goes by the name Tom Hanks, also stitched the bridal video.

Tom shared the story of the exit signs as a way to blast the fashion influencer.

The history of exit signs dates back to 1911, when 146 workers at a Manhattan garment factory were killed in a massive fire.

The fire – and the resulting deaths – prompted the National Fire Protection Association find a way to quickly evacuate people from buildings in an emergency.

People flooded the comment sections of Madison and Tom’s videos and shared their thoughts.

One person said: “Her videos also show the centerpieces with huge open flame candles!”

Another user said: “As an event producer this gives me hives. »

“If I walk into a room and don’t see an exit, I have a panic attack,” someone else said.

Many viewers also wondered which venue allowed the bride to cover the safety signs.

According to SheBridget’s wedding was planned by Laurie Arons and Birch Event Design and took place at the Plaza Hotel.

Bridget previously praised The Plaza for allowing open flames, so she didn’t have to put candles in hurricane candle holders.

It is unclear whether Bridget was allowed to conceal the exit signs at her reception.
