Jenna Bush Hager rules out renewing vows with husband Henry – despite admitting they made a promise on their honeymoon that they’d host a second ceremony to mark their tenth anniversary
Jenna Bush Hager has revealed she won’t be renewing her vows with husband Henry Chase Hager anytime soon – admitting she doesn’t feel the need because they “choose each other every day.”
The 41-year-old TV host explained to her co-host Hoda Kotb on Monday’s episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna why she is unlikely to follow in the footsteps of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, who recently reaffirmed their engagement . together on their 10th anniversary during a ceremony on Lake Como.
Bush Hager opened up about her views on the wedding and surprisingly shared that renewing her vows was something she and Henry had initially planned, although they have since reversed the decision.
“When Henry and I got married, when we went on our honeymoon, we thought, when we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we’ll renew our vows,” she said.

The couple, who have been married for 15 years, initially planned to renew their vows after 10 years of marriage.
‘We’re coming back here to renew our vows. Well, we’ve been married for 15 years. We never renewed our vows.”
Kotb, 59, asked her co-star about the subject, asking, “What do you think about the vow renewal?”
“I guess to each their own,” Bush Hager responded. ‘I don’t know if it’s for us. Because honestly, I feel like we choose each other in little things every day.
“You know, it’s like, like you said, if he says something that’s funny but slightly annoying, do I choose to laugh about it or do I choose to be grumpy? And it’s like you have to make that choice every day.”
Bush Hager met her husband in 2004 while he was working on her father’s presidential campaign.
She previously admitted on the Today show a few years ago that she proposed to him after just three months of dating, but he turned her down because she was too young.
The couple, parents of three children, daughters Mila, 10, and Poppy, eight, and son Hal, four, eventually tied the knot in 2008 at Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas.

Bush Hager previously revealed that her husband was so nervous about asking her father for her hand in marriage that he read the Bible for courage before getting his blessing.
“(It was) not easy,” she said.
‘He actually read the Bible. I was like, “Come to the movies,” or “We’re going to do this.”
“We had friends there and he said, ‘No.’ He called my father. He says, “I’d like to come talk to you.”
“He said, ‘I’m taking a nap.’ Come in a few hours. So he had to sit and cook.”
The former first daughter noted that her other half was more than prepared when the time came to share his intentions with his future father-in-law.
“He had a seven-point plan for why he wanted to marry me and how he was going to take care of me,” she explained.
‘My dad says, “Henry, I said yes. You don’t have to go through anything else – Laura, Henry is proposing,” and that was that. It’s a good thing he did it.’
