Two police officers were injured while chasing a suspected gunman.
The man is said to have confronted officers at gunpoint at a property in Katandra West near Shepparton in northern Victoria after midday on Monday before fleeing the scene in a car, leading to a police chase.
The officers lost control and drove their police vehicle along Creighton Road a short time later.
Both officers were slightly injured and taken to hospital for observation.
Police claimed the gunman later stopped at a home in Youanmite and left in another car.
The manhunt for the shooter continues.
