Venus retrograde saw a slew of shocking breakups between celebrities, from Britney to Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner – and now astrologers have said it was all down to the movements of the planets in the sky.

Venus was retrograde between July 23 and September 4, 2023. During that time, any attempt to establish or improve relationships was more difficult than it should be.

And Inbaal Honigman told FEMAIL this could have had an impact on a number of celebrity couples, including Britney and the Jonas.

But even though Venus retrograde is now over, she said all is not necessarily well in the stars. She explained that we’re in a “shadow period,” a time that can still be a little risky for relationships.

During the shadow period, we may miss a call from an ex, or dream that our partner is cheating.

Until October 7, 2023, things are precarious and caution is advised.

Water signs like Cancer, Pisces and Scorpio are very romantic, so they would feel it too.

However, Aries and Virgo are more self-sufficient, so they won’t be challenged by Venus as much as their watery friends.

Ram

The sign Aries is fiery and direct. The romantic ideas about Venus are not for them, and they would rather do what they want, when they want, than wait for a planet to move forward or backward. Aries is about actions, not emotions, so they will persevere with their love life, Venus or no Venus.

Taurus

Venus is the planetary ruler of the sign of Taurus, so the impact of Venus retrograde will carry over into Taurus’ life. On the other hand, when Venus goes direct, which is the case now, Taurus can feel the change and be ready to take action around love. Their hearts melt and they are more positive.

Twin

The sign of Gemini is cheerful and sociable, but love is not the most important thing in their lives. They chose a festival with 10,000 people in a field over a romantic candlelit dinner, holding hands. Venus doesn’t have much of an influence on Gemini, so they probably don’t even remember dating someone else at the beginning of the summer.

Cancer

Cancer is a romantic and loving sign, who likes to be surrounded by his family and loved ones. Emotions play a big role in their lives, and they definitely felt like things weren’t right during the retrograde. Even the shadow period can be a challenge for Cancer, so it’s best to postpone romantic decisions and not say yes or no to proposals until October 7.

Lion

Venus is actually in Leo itself right now, so Leos will be feeling exceptionally loving and romantic after the retrograde ends. One thing they will notice is that their fan base may increase: people fall in love with Leo very easily, and now that Venus retrograde is over, there will be even more of them.

Virgin

Virgo is a tidy and organized sign, and they don’t let any planet run their tight schedule for them. It’s a sensitive sign, so Virgo could tell that something was going on, that their partner was feeling down or that their parents weren’t getting along. But Virgo doesn’t let that affect them, they prefer to continue with their regular class schedule, so the end of the retrograde is not very different.

Scale

The sign of Libra is ruled by the planet Venus and therefore feels the effects of Venus retrograde very strongly. Now that Venus is direct again, Libra can capitalize on this success and ensure that the coming months are not lonely. Single? Go meet. Linked? Go cuddle. The uninterrupted direct movement of the planet fills you with verve.

Scorpion

When Venus goes direct, Scorpio prefers to stay in the shadows. The sign of Scorpio is mysterious and unusual. They like to dress up and play roles rather than talking directly to their partner or asking for help. So during Venus retrograde, Scorpio was doing well while others were struggling. With Venus going direct, Scorpio feels like all their mystery and drama superpowers are gone.

Archer

The sign of Sagittarius is powerful and open, they communicate clearly and live their full lives. They aren’t exactly romantic, but they don’t like being all alone either. Venus retrograde won’t have upset them, but it might have upset their partner. The end of the retrograde was very welcome, as Sagittarius prefers an easy and happy life without drama.

The stable and powerful sign of Capricorn doesn’t need the planets to tell them whether they are in love or just having fun. The retrograde may have brought its challenges, but Capricorn isn’t afraid of challenges. With Venus going direct, Capricorn appreciates the lack of confusion surrounding their love life.

Aquarius

Although Aquarius is not a very romantic sign, the Venus retrograde has affected them because Aquarius is very psychic. The end of the retrograde is welcome now, as Aquarius can finally relax, instead of having to take care of a crying partner or a recently dumped nephew. Their nature is sensitive to the fate of others.

Fishing

The sign of Pisces is romantic to the core and truly cares about feelings and relationships. Venus retrograde is a difficult time for Pisces as they value their relationships and can struggle when the planets are not aligned. Now they can breathe a sigh of relief now that the retrograde is over, but the shadow period can still cause some aftershocks.
