EXCLUSIVE: Ex-Homeland Security agent who inspired Sound of Freedom reveals he is considering a run for Mitt Romney’s Senate seat in Utah

The Sound of Freedom’s Tim Ballard reveals he is “very seriously considering” running for Mitt Romney’s Senate seat in Utah.

Ex-DHS agent Ballard’s harrowing story of rescuing children from sex slavery is featured in the film “The Sound of Freedom,” which has dominated the box office worldwide.

Ballard told Sean Spicer on “The Sean Spicer Show” this week in the video first obtained by DailyMail.com that he was asked “several weeks ago” to look into running for the seat by “very influential people’.

The 76-year-old Romney sent shockwaves through Congress on Thursday with the surprise announcement that he would not run for a second term. He also fired parting shots at the disarray within the Republican Party, saying Biden and Trump, like himself, were too old to take office.

“At the end of another term I would be in my mid-eighties,” he said. ‘Frankly, it is time for a new generation of leaders’

When Ballard was approached about running for the seat, before Romney had publicly announced his departure from the Senate, he said, “I’ve been thinking about it very seriously.”

And now that Romney has announced he will resign, Ballard said it is “easier” for himself to potentially organize a run for the seat.

Former DHS agent Tim Ballard – who inspired the movie Sound of Freedom – says Biden administration policies are responsible for child trafficking

He said he will enter the race after prayerfully considering the position and if his wife, Katherine, supports the decision.

The former agent currently lives in Utah with his wife and their nine children, two of whom they adopted from Haiti.

He said that based on his work, “something more needs to be done at the federal level” and that momentum continues to build for his potential Senate run.

“I keep getting calls from people,” he said.

Ballard said the film’s success will keep him from ever working as an operator again because his face is now recognized by human traffickers and bad actors, so becoming a senator could be a good next step.

The ex-cop who inspired the famous film Sound of Freedom has become a leading voice in the fight against human trafficking around the world.

On July 4, Sound of Freedom grossed $14 million, while the latest Indiana Jones film only grossed $11.5 million, according to the Post Millennial. It is now the number one film in Latin America.

As for the continued success of the Sound of Freedom film, Ballard told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview this week that he is still “shocked” by it.

But he is grateful for the success because he now gets audiences from Latin American leaders who are helping to bring about change.

“And it forces a conversation that I think the American people wanted to have but didn’t know how to start,” he added.

Ballard said the film was not intended to “make a statement about border policy,” but that it appeared at the exact time it was needed most.

He said the film’s success will prevent him from ever working as a cop operator again because his face is now recognized by traffickers and bad actors.

Ballard was on Capitol Hill this week to meet with lawmakers and testify about child sex trafficking.

He told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview ahead of his testimony before the House of Representatives that Biden’s open borders policy is perpetuating human trafficking in the US and abroad.

The Biden administration has lost track of the more than 85,000 unaccompanied minors who have crossed the U.S. border in recent years, he said.

The children become easy “prey for the traffickers,” creating an “alarming situation” that he says is being largely ignored by the Biden administration.

Republicans are heading toward a “potential” impeachment of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas as they expose the horrific human impact of the southern border crisis — including rampant sex trafficking and fentanyl poisonings.
