Aaron Rodgers’ torn Achilles tendon wasn’t caused by his refusal to get vaccinated or his experiments with ayahuasca, and according to the injured New York Jets quarterback, anyone who believes such nonsense is a “bum.”
In his first interview since suffering a season-ending injury just four games into his Jets career, Rodgers discussed his media critics with ESPN’s Pat McAfee: conservative Greg Kelly and liberal Keith Olbermann, both of whom he called “bums.”
Kelly, the son of former New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, advanced the theory earlier this week that Rodgers’ injury was the result of drug use and a lack of Christian faith on the quarterback’s part.
Meanwhile, Olbermann playfully blamed Rodgers’ much-publicized refusal to get the COVID-19 vaccine for the injury.
“Go get your fifth booster, Keith,” Rodgers said of Olbermann before calling the former ESPN and MSNBC host a “bum.”

Rodgers’ debut for the New York Jets lasted about three minutes before he was sacked and pulled from Monday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills.
The 39-year-old has since undergone season-ending surgery on his lower leg.
“Another #SuddenLisfranc for not vaccinating,” Olbermann wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, along with six syringe emojis.
Rodgers made headlines two years ago when he said he had been “immunized,” only to later confirm he had not been vaccinated. Instead, Rodgers claimed he was participating in an “immunization process by a holistic physician.”
The quarterback recently watched Novak Djokovic, another unvaccinated sports star, at the US Open and posted a photo with a Moderna logo crossed out. He also posted a goat emoji with the hashtag: ‘novaxdjokovic.’
Meanwhile, Kelly proposed that the true cause of Rodgers’ injury was his penchant for using psychedelic drugs and a lack of God in his life.
After claiming he predicted disaster for Rodgers, Kelly also suggested it’s impossible to be an elite quarterback and satisfied at the same time.
“Did he rupture his Achilles tendon?” Kelly asked. ‘Something like that? I totally saw this coming. I said it out loud, I can prove it to you tomorrow night. I’ll look for the tape, it’s there somewhere.
‘This would be a disaster. He lost the tiger’s eye. A competitive quarterback can’t always be happy and goofy.
