Mel Gibson’s picturesque country home in rural Victoria is on the market for $3.5 million

A ranch that was once the country retreat of Hollywood superstar Mel Gibson is now for sale at a price range of $3 million to $3.5 million.

Located in Gundowring, Victoria, 332km from Melbourne, the Mad Max actor, 67, sold the sprawling property to its current owners in 2016.

Located on 21 acres of land with a large homestead with six bedrooms and three bathrooms, Gibson lived on the property with his family in the 1980s, reports the Herald Sun.

Originally the estate, known as ‘Beartooth’, covered 809 hectares, but Gibson sold most of it, retaining the house, in 2008.

The beautiful two-storey main building is currently used as a bed and breakfast and opens onto the beautiful Kiewa River.

The massive classic brick home was renovated by Gibson and his then wife Robyn and offers a cozy atmosphere with old-fashioned furniture, timber style and retro carpeting.

Highlights include large ‘land verandas’ surrounding the house, French doors and a shaded wooden ‘observation deck’.

There is also a formal dining room, a drawing room and a study.

Meanwhile, the industrial kitchen is equipped with modern appliances, an old-fashioned wood stove and a cool room.

Other facilities include livestock yards and outbuildings including sheds for storage and machinery.
