Taylor Swift’s The Era Tour concert film predicted to top $100MILLION during opening weekend as pre-sales soar
Taylor Swift has been a force to be reckoned with in the music industry for almost two decades.
But year after year, the pop superstar has demonstrated a magical touch in virtually every business venture she’s put her name and face to, compliments of her fiercely devoted Swifitie fans.
Her latest major success, a concert film, is growing by the day and will only be released in a few weeks.
In the days after Swift announced that her Eras Tour concert film would hit U.S. theaters in October, presale tickets have sold so quickly that theaters have already added additional showtimes to meet growing demand, according to reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The frenetic pace has now caused industry insiders and experts to predict that the film could open to $100 million in ticket sales, based on fans who have already purchased their tickets in advance.

Citing other expert sources, the THR article did not rule out the possibility that the film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour could gross $150 million or more in the US alone, on a budget reportedly between $10 and 20 million would be.
Those kinds of numbers are bigger than many of the traditional films released in recent years.
AMC, the company that acquired the rights to distribute the concert film, reported that pre-sales generated as much as $26 million in the first 24 hours the tickets became available.
The $26 million in presales set a new benchmark for AMC, surpassing the previous record holder for resales in such a short time, Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), which sold $16.9 million in first-day tickets sales generated.
At the current pace, BoxOffice.com lead analyst Shawn Robbins said he wouldn’t be surprised if the film had the best opening of any film released in the fourth quarter. CNBC has reported.
To put things in perspective, Barbie, the biggest movie of the year, opened with $155 million at the worldwide box office in July. Since then, it has broken $1 billion just a few weeks later and has now reached $1.405 billion against a budget of $128-145 million.
To give an example of how confident some filmmakers are that the Swift concert film will wipe out the competition, two other films that were scheduled to be released the same weekend have had their premiere dates moved up.
The Swift film won’t break any rules related to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, despite the Lover star being a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
