Emma Raducanu has revealed her new love for Mahjong after recently learning the tile game during a trip to China.
The 20-year-old tennis star is currently recovering from surgery on her wrists and ankle.
Raducanu is currently ranked 194th in the WTA rankings and has not played since April, where she was knocked out in the first round by Jelena Ostapenko at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart.
The 2021 US Open women’s singles champion subsequently underwent surgery in May and posted photos of herself with casts on both her arms and ankle on social media.
She has since been taking steps to recover from that surgery and was seen playing tennis in training last month for the first time since her surgery.

While working on her comeback, the British tennis player has also been traveling and recently visited her mother’s home country of China to visit her family.
She recently visited Shenyang, where she shared how she played her new hobby, Mahjong, with her grandmother.
“I recently learned Mahjong and feel most at home and my true self when I sit at my grandmother’s or aunt’s kitchen table in Shenyang and play with family,” Raducanu said Porsche.

While tennis stars spend a lot of time on the court, the 20-year-old also revealed some other things she does when she’s not competing or training.
When asked what her hobbies were, she said: “These include Mahjong, piano, reading, learning new cultures and languages, motorsports, driving and diving.
‘On a day off I like to practice some piano… I’ve just started learning and still have a long way to go, but I really like the melodies once you get the hang of them.
‘I also picked up Mahjong and now enjoy playing with whoever I can find. And I just love driving.”
