Netflix viewers are hooked on the streaming services’ latest true crime thriller, Burning Body.
The series, which released last week, is inspired by true events and is set in Barcelona, Spain.
The drama follows the investigation into a murder case of a police officer whose burned body was found in a car. It is soon revealed that the officer’s wife and her lover are considered the main suspects.
The discovery quickly sparks public interest and reveals a network of toxic relationships, deceit, violence and sexual exploitation involving the victim.
A story about a love triangle gone wrong, the story follows the violent and heated relationships of the murder victim and his would-be killers, according to Netflix’s synopsis.

Burning Body, directed by Feroz Award nominee Jorge Torregrossa (Intimacy, La Vida Inesperada), is based on a true story and stars Money Heist’s Úrsula Corberó, Feroz and Gaudí nominee Quim Gutiérrez, and Feroz and Goya Award winner Eva Llorach.
The true story is called ‘el Crimen de la Guardia Urbana’, or the crime of the Urban Guard, which caused a media frenzy in Spain from 2017 onwards.
The story revolves around the 2017 murder of Guardia officer Pedro Rodríguez and the 2020 trial involving Rodríguez’s partner, Rosa Peral, and her then-lover, Albert López. Both were Rodríguez’s fellow officers.
The series, which debuted on September 8, has been praised as “phenomenal” and will leave viewers “unable to stop watching.”
On X, formerly known as Twitter, someone wrote: I just watched the first episode of Burning Body on Netflix and I’m already hooked.’
Another said: ‘Burning Body on Netflix is so damn good. Every episode is better than the next. Absolutely phenomenal!’
“This show is so good,” a third viewer wrote.

Netflix’s synopsis reads: ‘After the discovery of a burned body in the Foix reservoir near Barcelona, the plot delves into the tangle of toxic relationships, deceit, violence and sex scandals involving the deceased (Pedro, a cop) and two other guys involved. agents (Rosa and Albert)’
The series was shot entirely in the province of Barcelona, Spain, where the real-life murder case that inspired the show took place in 2017.
Filming began in September 2022 and ended in February of the following year.
Instantly known to millions of Netflix subscribers worldwide, Úrsula Corberó, who played the role of Tokyo in Money Heist, plays the lead role of Rosa in Burning Body.
The actress has only starred in one other Netflix series, Paquita Salas, but she will star in the upcoming heist comedy Lift, starring Kevin Hart.
