Gibson adamantly denied any wrongdoing in an extended clip he posted to his Instagram Monday, saying he never had any contact “directly with Envy or directly with his wife in which I disrespected him or her.”
Gibson said he thoroughly reviewed his text message logs to make sure he never made comments that could be misconstrued.

DJ Envy, 46, and wife Gia, 44, were photographed earlier this year in honor of Valentine’s Day. DJ Envy stated that Tyrese supported him in rebuilding his marriage to Casey after being unfaithful to her, but things between them have since deteriorated.

The Baby Boy actor said it was “the most hurtful thing ever” to be involved in such a situation, dismissing the idea that the drugs he was allegedly taking played a role in his allegedly unpleasant behavior towards the couple.
“Whether I was on psychiatric drugs or not, you are not describing me as a man,” he said.
In the radio program ThursdayDJ Envy said he blocked Gibson from his contact list because he was put off by the way the actor interacted with others.
“I didn’t want to see Tyrese like that — that’s not the man my brother was,” DJ Envy said.
Gibson showed off a group text message from August 2022 in the clip on Tuesday that included both DJ Envy and Gia, saying it proved the couple had not been truthful in saying he and Gia had blocked Gibson from her contacts because of his comments.
‘I have received receipts. If your wife has blocked me, how do we communicate about anything on August 23, 2022?” said Gibson.
Gibson said DJ Envy lied when he claimed he unblocked him last month, saying, “That’s a lie, man, that’s a lie.”

DJ Envy had publicly stated in the past that Tyrese supported him in rebuilding his marriage to Casey after being unfaithful to her.
In their conversation on the radio show last week, Gibson said he had been taking “mental drugs” during the time he clashed with DJ Envy, saying it was like being drunk.
Gibson asked DJ Envy if he took that into account, because he knew that ‘typically this guy isn’t like that.’
DJ Envy said he “never had a conversation” with Gibson at the time because he “never wanted to see him in that condition.”
He added: “The person who was talking to my wife at the time with the text messages, I didn’t like that. And I wanted to remember Tyrese as a brother who helped my relationship. So I took a step back.
“I didn’t know what you were going through and I tried to talk to you, and I saw who you were… and when I saw the way you were talking, I said, ‘I’m going to take a step back.’
Gibson said DJ Envy had been a wishy-washy friend to him, saying, “How convenient for you to step back – I never stepped back.”
DJ Envy admitted that Gibson had been a loyal friend in the past, but things changed after his allegedly offensive conversation with Gia.
