Lizzo slips into red Adidas x Gucci ensemble… and gifts her mom with posh bag for her birthday

Lizzo has been known to splurge on some the newest fashions for herself, as well as on family and friends.

And on Sunday the musician and rapper took to her Instagram page to share a series of photos of her more recent purchases, although at times she has enjoyed the perks of being a star and has gotten things for free.

First up, the Cuz I Love You star struck a number of poses, both solo and with beau Myke Wright, in a new ensemble from the Adidas x Gucci collaboration collection.

She would then direct her spending power on her mother and gift her with a new Gucci bag for her birthday, which she documented in a second series of snaps she took while celebrating with Wright and her family.

The outfit had an old school, retro look to it, which is the theme of the new collaboration, which got its launch during Alessandro Michele’s show in Milan last September, according to Vogue.   

‘We Gucci,’ she declared in the caption of the posts that featured the boisterous star with her raven tresses pulled back off her face, with the use of a head scarf.

It only takes a glance to be able to recognize some of the familiar designs that each brand has been known for in yesteryears.

The Tempo rapper would add stylish brown-frame sunglasses to her ensemble for most of the images, including when she struck a pose or two alongside the man in her life.

Wright, 35, showed off his fashion sense decked out in a purple suit with black lapels and matching leather shoes.

Sporting a full beard and mustache, the stand-up comedian and actor had his dark locks styled in long braids that fell below his shoulders.

For a second photo together, the couple wrapped their arms around each other while staring directing into the camera, all while Lizzo makes sure to hold up her posh animal print bag.

The couple’s history dates back to when they worked together as co-hosts and stars of MTV’s Wonderland, which debuted in 2016.

It didn’t take long on Sunday before Lizzo followed up with yet another post where she flaunted her love of Gucci. Only this time it was all about spreading the love to her mother, Shari Johnson-Jefferson, for her birthday.

‘My mom opening her Gucci bag is a MOOD – I love you mommy happy birthday,’ she gushed in the caption about her birthday gift her to mom.

For the cover selfie photo, mother-and daughter snuggled together outside by a wooden fence.

The birthday girl, who was likely wearing one of the items Lizzo gifted her last year when she bought her an entire new wardrobe for her birthday.

The proud mom had a look of surprise when she opened up the wrapping to discover that her daughter had given her a gorgeous Gucci bag.

There’s also a couple of group photos of Lizzo and Wright celebrating her mother’s birthday with family.

Lizzo was classically trained as a flutist by renowned music teacher Claudia Momen from the age of 10 until she graduated from Alief Elsik High School in Alief, Houston in 2006, which is also where she began honing her rapping skills.

She has released four studio albums since 2013; the most recent is Special, which dropped in mid-July

Proceeded by the single About Damn Time, which hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100, the album ent on to peak at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart.
