While almost everyone has woken up with an unsightly red bump on their face, a leading GP has revealed why you should never pop a pimple.
Dr. Raj Arora, from Windsor, has told why picking at exploding spots can aggravate your skin – and why you should use creams to tackle the blemish instead.
The aesthetic specialist used TikTok to share a video with the title: ‘This is why you should NEVER pop your pimples‘.
She asks him for 34,000 followers “Do you pop your pimples?” for reassure them.
“I know it’s very tempting to pop or pop a pimple when it’s right on the surface of your skin, but here’s why you shouldn’t.”
Although the use of the needle is praised by some as a reliable method, Dr. Raj warns of its dangers, including unpleasant side effects such as scarring and redness.

She said: ‘You can apply certain gels or creams, such as 5% benzoyl peroxide. This can help dry out the pimple and reduce its appearance’

Other over-the-counter creams she recommended include “medicated creams or treatments that contain salicylic acid, a beta-hydroxy acid (that) helps unclog pores and treat and clear acne.”
Wearing a pair of bright blue scrubs, the doctor showed the camera a number of products whose composition includes the smart skincare ingredients, before explaining ‘you can use it in toner or wash form’.
Despite the reliable hacks, the doctor emphasized at the end of the video: “If you have a lot of pimples and a pus-filled pimple that you are trying to pop, see your doctor or dermatologist.”
She explained, “They give you a treatment plan to get rid of your acne.”
