Netflix docuseries rated ‘most riveting ever’ by impressed viewers
Viewers have been left in awe after binge-watching Netflix’s newly released docuseries Spy Ops, with some calling it the ‘best’ documentary they’ve ever seen.
The series became available to watch on the streaming site on September 8 and has already received rave reviews from captivated viewers around the world.
Spy Ops delves deep into the world of geopolitics, with intelligence agents from MI6 and the CIA sharing their personal stories of spy craft, Cold War campaigns and coups carried out by secret agents.
The eight-part series features episodes that focus on politically controversial events, such as Operation Jawbreaker, in which US troops enter Afghanistan on a mission to take down the Taliban just fifteen days after September 11, 2001.
Other episodes follow MI6’s daring attempt to retrieve a Soviet double agent from Moscow, and feature testimony from a man who planned and attempted to assassinate Catholicism’s highest figure, Pope John Paul II.

However, some viewers shared their distaste for some of the content pushed in the series, with a number of people criticizing the US government and its ‘involvement’ in the affairs of other countries.
One person said: ‘I watch Spy Ops, the US has tentacles everywhere. In every country. They are the government of the world who can just invade any country if they don’t like the leader.’

As for the CIA and accusing ‘interference’, this comes after the CIA was recently indicted for its role in helping draft a letter from 51 intelligence officials discrediting Hunter Biden’s laptop as Russian disinformation.
A Republican report released in May found that the CIA was actively involved in obtaining signatures for the letter that was “a political operation to help elect Hunter’s father Joe Biden in November 2020.”
