Canadian pop icon plans ‘collaboration with Adele ahead of UK tour’ and two more upcoming albums

Shania Twain ‘looking forward to a superstar collaboration with Adele’, The sun has reported.

The Canadian pop icon, 58, revealed she would like to collaborate with the British singer after the duo met at the Grammy Awards in February.

And the Hello hitmaker, 35, couldn’t be more flattered as she previously admitted she was a big fan of the queen of country pop.

Adele was surprised to find out that Shania had secretly attended one of her Las Vegas gigs, saying she would have “self-combusted if I’d seen it was you” and adding: “I’m fond of you’.

The singer told The Sun that she and the British sensation would “fit together beautifully” and that she would “love to sing with her.”

The country icon didn’t hold back from singing Adele’s praises, saying not only that she’s “a great singer,” but also that “her own style is unique” and that she “likes her a lot.”

‘She’s also a character on stage. She is a fantastic artist,” she said.

Shania told how the duo were able to chat for the first time at the Grammys in February, with Adele sitting nearby and ‘having a good time’.

“We talked about it when I was in her audience, and I really loved the show. It was such a beautiful show.’

Earlier this year, the Canadian singer revealed she was hoping to move to Britain and has been spending a lot of time on the road – just after releasing her latest album Queen Of Me.

The country sensation couldn’t be more ready to kick off the new tour, which kicks off in Glasgow on Thursday and will run until November 2023.

But Shania has also revealed there’s plenty more to come, saying she now has enough material “to make at least two albums now.”

“I have so much music that I wrote during the lockdown periods because, out of sheer boredom, I needed an outlet for my creativity,” she revealed.

The You’re Still The One singer has fans waiting six years for her latest album, but she also teased that she plans…make a new record as soon as possible’.

Earlier in August, Shania revealed the strict pre-show routine she’s keeping to as she celebrates 25 years since her breakthrough album.

The Man I Feel Like A Woman hitmaker appeared on an episode of Lorraine, hosted by Christine Lampard, on Friday as she discussed the ritual she adheres to.

The 57-year-old revealed that she doesn’t eat before a show and therefore chooses to skip dinner.

She explained, “I don’t eat solids before the show. It’s about knowing your routine and making sure you don’t need a bathroom break.’

Pop sensation’s breakthrough album Come On Over was released in 1997 and has sold 40 million copies, making it the 15th best-selling album of all time in Britain.

Shania also opened up about her fitness routine, as she confessed when she was touring, performing is her exercise: “On the show, it’s two hours of elevated heart rate,” she explained.

She added that when she is not touring, she enjoys horseback riding.

‘When I’m not on tour I like to ride horses, when I’m not riding I’m walking or busy.’

To mark her record’s celebratory milestone, the star is remastering the original tapes for the first time ever and returns to Las Vegas next year for a residency at Planet Hollywood.

Come On Over was certified as both the best-selling country album and the best-selling album by a female artist of all time.

It is the best-selling studio album by an international female artist in Britain and has been in the charts for three years, including 11 weeks at No. 1 in the UK Albums Charts and 51 weeks in the Top 10.

Speaking about the record, the star said: ‘With Come On Over it was important for me to give what I thought was the best record of my life, and that’s why there are so many songs on it.

‘I thought: let’s load this up in case there is no more chance. Let’s not hold anything back.’

There was no point in saving songs for another album or even giving songs to other artists, thinking that this might be my only chance to really make an impact as a follow-up to the previous album, which was already Diamond- was certified.

‘I would say Come On Over put such a lot of pressure on me because I knew I had more in me than one Diamond album.’

Discussing her wide audience, she explained, “My audience was broader than the average country genre crowd – they came from all over the world!

“This was an album that was really meant to bridge genres, and I wanted to make sure the fans got what they expected from me as a multi-genre artist.

‘With this album I’m trying to make that happen and bring as many different people together as possible – so imagine how incredible it feels to still have the feeling of bringing people together 25 years later? I’m in a great place in my life.’

Among her many hits, the album produced her chart-topping hits You’re Still The One, Love Gets Me Every Time, Man! I feel like a woman! and that doesn’t impress me much.

The new rendition will feature nine additional songs featuring live duets with Chris Martin, Elton John, Alison Krauss and the Backstreet Boys.
