Princess Alexia’s solo debut! Queen Máxima and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands’ daughter, 18, is perfectly poised as she carries out her first engagement without her parents
Princess Alexia of the Netherlands proved she has inherited her mother Queen Máxima’s fashion talent when she performed her first solo engagement today.
The 18-year-old royal family, second in line to the Dutch throne after her sister Princess Catharina-Amalia, baptized the Vox Alexia, a ship from the Dutch manufacturer Van Oord, in Rotterdam.
It marked Alexia’s first engagement without her parents, Queen Máxima, 52, and King Willem-Alexander, 56, or her two sisters, Catharina-Amalia, 19, and Princess Ariane, 16.
But instead of shying away from the spotlight, the princess looked poised and professional during the solo event.
She opted for an elegant navy blue midi dress with cut-out details on the shoulders, a flared skirt and white and blue ruffles along the long sleeves.

Looking typically stylish, Alexia teamed her piece with cream strappy heels while wearing statement earrings.
She completed her look with a touch of glamorous makeup and kept her hair in a chic updo.

Alexia graduated from UWC Atlantic College in South Wales in May this year, with her parents traveling to the prestigious school to celebrate.
The school is often referred to as ‘Hippie Hogwarts’ due to its progressive approach to education and picturesque castle setting.

The college is intended for students aged 16 to 19 and students from all over the world, 150 countries to be precise, who live and study together.
The college is based in St Donat’s Castle, South Wales, in a 12th-century castle, set in 122 hectares of woodland and farmland with its own valley and coast.
It was founded by German educationalist Kurt Hahn and is located in the 12th-century St. Donat’s Castle on the country’s south coast.
It costs as much as £67,000 a year for courses such as Tai Chi, Theory of Knowledge and Tibetan Literature.
