Maddie Brooks rape suspect recorded shocking selfie video from front seat of car before Louisiana student was killed saying ‘these guys are crazy. They finna rape her’, lawyer claims
One of the suspects in the alleged rape of Louisiana State University student Madison Brooks recorded a video saying they were going to rape her, an attorney for the family claims.
Kerry Miller, the attorney for Brooks’ mother, said Fox News digital that on the recording from the driver’s seat, 18-year-old Casen Carver can be heard saying, “These guys are crazy.” They’re going to rape her.’
The clip was played in court after an attorney for another suspect, Desmond Carter, 17, filed a motion to reduce his bond.
Brooks was hit by a car after leaving the bar where she worked with a group of men in the early morning hours of January 15.
Miller said videos and evidence from the area around Reggie’s Bar in Baton Rouge were shown during the hearing, providing insight into what really happened that night.

No evidence can be released to the public due to an agreement between the East Baton Rouge District Attorney’s Office and attorneys.
The two sides had a disagreement over leaks after a video emerged of Brooks slurring her words and apologizing to the four men in the car.
Sculptor; Carter, 18; Everett Lee, 28; and Kaivon Washington, 18, have all been charged in connection with Brooks’ alleged rape.
Brooks had been drinking at the bar when she was approached by the group.
Video shows the LSU student leaving the bar in an intoxicated state and getting into the car with the four men.
Miller said prosecutors played a video of Brooks yelling, “Go away.”
Surveillance footage showed the suspects’ car in the same spot for about 20 minutes.

“From the surveillance camera you can’t really see what’s going on in the car,” Miller described the footage. “Someone hung a T-shirt on one of the rear windows to block the view of what was happening in the backseat.”
According to Miller, the video shows loud rap music being played the entire time and at one point Washington can be seen pushing Brooks into the backseat.
Washington and Carter both admitted to engaging in sexual activity with the victim.
At 3 a.m., the defendants dropped Brooks off on the side of the road, when she was hit by a ride-share car shortly afterwards.
The driver remained at the scene and bystanders stopped and attempted to help the student.

Ashley Baustert, Brooks’ mother, revealed that the last text her daughter sent her was “I love you!!!” used to be. and added a photo with one of her sorority sons.
Baustert immediately suspected foul play: ‘I know something was wrong. “I know something terrible happened,” she said. “Based on the circumstances of how she was hit, where she was, the time and that she was alone.”
The judge lowered Carter’s bond to $100,000 and it is unclear whether he has been released.
All suspects have pleaded not guilty.
