Son is charged with murdering his dad who worked with him in the family removalist business: Grim scenes in the upmarket Sydney suburb of Berowra Heights as father’s body is found with ‘serious head injuries’

A son accused of killing his father by assaulting him and leaving him with severe head injuries wrote a series of bizarre posts on social media before the alleged incident.

Jaiken Fitzpatrick, 38, has been charged with the alleged murder of his father Kenneth, 69, at the family’s home in Berowra Heights, Sydney’s northern suburbs, around 4.20pm on Thursday.

Emergency services were called to the address where they found Mr Fitzpatrick senior with serious injuries. Despite their best efforts, he died on the spot. The younger man was charged overnight.

Daily Mail Australia understands that both father and son worked for a mover franchise, Little Green Truck, which operates around Gosford, on the NSW Central Coast and northern Sydney.

On Friday morning, a Little Green Truck business car was seen being towed from the home by police.

According to data from the regulator, Kenneth canceled registration of his franchise business in April this year.

However, the franchise was put up for sale a month earlier in March and remains on the market.

Jaiken’s lawyer Andrew Scali told Hornsby local court on Friday that his client was “extremely troubled” and needed a mental health assessment.

Jaiken was denied bail and his case will appear in court at a later date.

Unusual messages

The shocking allegations come just weeks after Jaiken shared a series of disturbing posts on social media.

On Aug. 1, the mover — who dabbles in photography — shared a black and white photo of himself looking pensive on Facebook.

A friend commented that he “looked lost” and asked what his problem was. Jaiken replied that he was “lost.”

He didn’t respond when the same friend kept asking what was going on.

Two weeks later, he said he had recently contemplated suicide.

“Yesterday… I was so close to ending my life alone, deeply ashamed,” the post began.

‘Then a voice in my head… Ending my life. It’s selfish because my life can save others.

“One breath to you is a life worth saving for me. One more breath gives me the chance to hold your hand and be heard.

‘You Matter! You have a voice worth saving!’

Fourteen days later, he launched an Instagram page entitled “beautiful pain,” dedicated to his photography hobby.

Between the series of landscape photos, he placed photos of close-ups of his face, with the words “without a beautiful death.”

Jaiken’s other online activities suggested that he shared a strong bond with his father.

In one post he helped his father by selling a motorcycle on his behalf and in another post he talked about how he could go into the garden to help his father cut down trees.

The police will claim that Jaiken killed his father in the family’s brick mansion while Kenneth’s wife was at work.

Police remained on scene Friday afternoon and detectives were seen knocking on the door nearby as officers searched the house.

A friend of the family told reporters outside the home on Friday that the alleged victim was a “nice man.”

Local resident George Jankowski said the murdered man was “a pretty quiet guy who kept his cool.”

“It was a shock, it was unexpected, especially here, it’s a quiet place,” he said.

“Just hearing a truck driving down the street is a big drama, so when something like that happens it’s a big shock.”
