EXCLUSIVE Beware of the cat burglar! Pet owner’s horror after CCTV captures terrifying moment moggy creeps into the house brandishing a five-inch KNIFE
A cat owner was horrified after his moggy snuck into his house with a six-inch kitchen knife and tried to get into his bedroom.
Jay Phoenix says he was woken up at 3 a.m. by a tap on the bedroom door, only to find his four-year-old Maine Coon named Gingee standing at his bedroom door with the knife in her mouth.
The 43-year-old said: ‘In the early hours of the morning I heard tapping on the bedroom door, we had locked her out because she likes to wake me up at 5am.
‘I ignored it, but when my partner woke up and opened the door, she was standing there with the knife.
He immediately looked at the footage and saw her casually walking through the cat flap, like a pirate.

Gingee the Maine Coon… with the knife in her mouth
Jay’s four-year-old Maine Coon, named Gingee, tried to enter his bedroom with a knife
“She’s brought in trash, animals, and toys before, but never guns.
“I’m afraid she was angry because we locked her out of the bedroom.”
Jay, from Buckley, North Wales, says he set up CCTV cameras after his pet became a real cat burglar, taking home dozens of household items stolen from neighbours.
He says he is now considering putting a metal detector around the cat flap.
Gingee’s crime spree also included children’s swimming goggles, plant pots, a kitchen colander, toys, and many more scissors.
With new items coming in four times a week, Jay and his partner have started posting to a local Facebook group to try and reunite neighbors with their belongings.

Jay said Gingee (pictured) ‘certainly seems really pleased with herself at times’
In one case, an object was returned to its owner, only to disappear again a short time later.
Jay said, “Every day we wake up to something new. We even put up CCTV cameras to catch her in the act, but so far she has avoided doing so.
She seems pretty happy with herself sometimes. She leaves them where we can see them, so clearly does she believe they are gifts for us.
“We’re not insulting her or anything. We just think it’s hilarious now. It’s the most bizarre behavior we’ve ever seen. We just post every time she brings something back to Facebook, hoping someone will claim it.
“Besides being a petty thief, Gingee is the most loving, attention-seeking cutie you’ll ever meet. She likes meeting new people and making a fuss about her.

GIngee’s owner said he doesn’t scold the cat, far from it, he thinks the situations are ‘hilarious’

“She likes to be close to you, so often comes over to us on the couch and then just plops down next to us and falls asleep.” She is unique and beautiful.’
And the locals see the funny side with one joke: “Well, at least he had goggles to carry the scissors in the bucket.” Smart cat.’
Another joked, “Next time he goes out, I can give him an order for what I need.”
This isn’t the first time a moggy’s theft has embarrassed a feline owner. Last year, Rachel Masterman, 48, of Gwent, Wales, revealed that her cat Demo brought home a sex toy, gloves, a watering can and flowers from a grave.
