Aaron Ramsdale has been shortlisted for the Yashin Trophy at the 2023 Ballon d’Or awards along with three other Premier League goalkeepers.

The prestigious gong will be given to the world’s best stopper next month and Arsenal’s number 1 Ramsdale is on the ten-man list.

Fellow top goalkeepers Andre Onana, Emiliano Martinez and Ederson, from Manchester United, Man City and Aston Villa respectively, also have a chance to win the prize.

They were joined by Mike Maignan, Yassine Bounou, Brice Samba, Thibaut Courtois, Dominik Livakovic and Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Courtois of Real Madrid is the current holder of the Yashin Trophy.

Ramsdale has had a fantastic year at the Emirates, helping them fight for the league title before losing to City in an embarrassing fashion.

Despite David Raya being hired from Brentford and Mikel Arteta considering giving the understudy a chance, Ramsdale remains the club’s first choice.

Onana played a part in Inter Milan’s Champions League final defeat, while Ederson claimed another major trophy with a City side completing a historic Treble.

Martinez also stood out with a series of fantastic stops under Unai Emery.

Elsewhere, Maignan has become France’s number 1, while Bounou secured a lucrative move to Saudi side Al Hilal after winning the Europa League in Seville.

Formerly of Nottingham Forest, Samba is a surprising entry on the list.

Despite his season-ending ACL injury, Courtois will be among the favorites to defend his title, though LaLiga rival Ter Stegen will be hoping to challenge him.

Croatian goalkeeper Livakovic was crucial to his country’s participation in the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup and recently joined Fenerbahce in Turkey.
