Prince George cop Francesco Marlett is suspended after making out with scantily-clad woman: Officer was previously accused of knocking his girlfriend’s three-year-old son unconscious after he soiled the bed
The Maryland police officer who was caught on camera kissing a woman next to his cruiser before climbing into the backseat with her has been suspended.
Prince George’s County police officer Francesco Marlett was unmasked on Tuesday after a video of the incident went viral, showing him kissing the woman in a public park full of children.
“The agent has been identified. His police powers have now been suspended as the investigation continues,” PGPD said in an update.
It is at least the third suspension for Marlett, who was suspended without pay in 2016 when he was charged with child molestation for knocking his then-girlfriend’s three-year-old boy unconscious – a charge later dropped for unclear reasons. .
He was also suspended for a month in May 2023 after being charged with domestic violence, but returned to service in June. WBFF TV reported.
A spokesperson for the PGPD did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Wednesday. Martlett was not immediately available for comment.
His latest suspension comes after a shocking video showed the uniformed officer kissing a scantily clad woman in a park, then climbing into the back of his cruiser with her.
The video first shows the couple kissing, while the woman touches the officer’s head. The woman then walks to the back of the car, with the officer’s arm around her.
“As soon as we became aware of it earlier today, we have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances,” the department tweeted Tuesday.
“Additional information will be released once it has been investigated and confirmed.”

Prince George’s County police union chief Angelo Consoli told the newspaper Washington Post the union was aware of the video and the police are investigating.
“We support our agents during any investigation and ask people to reserve their judgment until the facts come to light,” Consoli said. “At that time we will reevaluate our position.”
Nelson Ochoa told WRC TV that he filmed the now-viral video on Labor Day, when he was playing football with his family at Southlawn Park in Oxon Hill.
“As soon as I started recording, a car stopped and a young lady came out,” Ochoa said.
“We couldn’t believe what we were seeing, and what really made us think, ‘Wow, this is crazy,’ was when the car started rocking a little bit to the left and right.
“Then we thought, this is crazy. In broad daylight with children around.’
Nelson Ochoa said he filmed the now-viral video on Labor Day, when he was playing soccer with his family at Southlawn Park in Oxon Hill.
Ochoa said Marlett and the woman drove off in opposite directions about 40 minutes after the connection began.
“I’m glad I captured it on camera so Prince George can see what kind of cops they have in front of them and supposedly protecting the community,” he said.
After Martlett was accused of being the officer in the video, his criminal record came under the spotlight.
In May 2016, he was charged with one charge of second-degree child abuse and one charge of second-degree assault resulting from an incident in December 2015.
Prosecutors at the time alleged that on Dec. 27, he watched his girlfriend’s three-year-old son while she was preparing dinner and began beating her son after he defiled the bed.

While beating the child, the boy’s head hit the wall and he lost consciousness, prosecutors claimed.
“There is no excuse for Agent Marlett’s actions,” Angela D. Alsobrooks, then Attorney for the State of Prince George’s County, said in the statement at the time.
“Whatever happened, beating a defenseless child and causing this kind of injury is never acceptable,” she added.
According to the WBFF, charges against Marlett were later dropped and dropped, and he remained with the PGPD force.
The footage of the officer making out in the park was originally posted to TikTok Monday night and has been viewed more than two million times.
The poster read: “The police don’t care.” He can hear and see children running near the couple.
In the background, a group of men can be heard speaking Spanish as they review the scene.

Thousands of social media users reacted to the video, with many calling for the officer to be fired.
“This needs the sound of ‘you’re about to lose your job,'” said one TikTok user. “I should have called the police… oh,” said another.
“Meanwhile, a little old lady somewhere is being robbed or worse,” a third added.
Others wondered how the couple in love would get out of the back seat, since the back seats of police cars supposedly could not be opened from the inside.
One person said, “There’s obviously a trick to opening from the inside.”
