Bronny James claimed this weekend that he would be a quarterback if he played football as he and his USC basketball teammates took in some Trojans action.

James, the oldest son of NBA star LeBron, was hospitalized in July after going into cardiac arrest while training at USC’s Galen Center.

He was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center three days later on July 24.

On Saturday, the freshman guard and his teammates accepted USC Football’s 56-28 victory over San Jose State, and were asked what position they would play as football players.

“I would probably play QB,” he told the basketball team’s social media team.

‘I’ve got a good arm, man. I can read defense and stuff.’

Bronny’s teammates’ answers, meanwhile, ranged from wide receiver, tight end, safety, and also quarterback.

The James family released a statement late last month saying a congenital heart defect was the likely cause of James’ cardiac arrest.

The statement said the heart defect can be treated and that the family is confident in James’ ability to make a full recovery and return to court in the near future.

USC basketball coach Andy Enfield said last week that Bronny was doing “extremely well” and was in class in college.

“And we all love him,” Enfield said. “I think everyone is hopeful that Bronny will return to court. We just have to be patient and take it one step at a time.’

Earlier this summer, LeBron and his oldest son Bronny traveled to Minnesota to visit the Mayo Clinic for further treatment, according to TMZ.

The Mayo Clinic is one of the top hospitals in the United States, with campuses in Minnesota, Arizona, and Florida.

James, a six-foot-tall guard, committed to USC in May, bolstering what was already one of the top recruiting classes in the country.
