Collingwood star Jack Crisp and his wife Mikayla are expecting their third child to arrive around the time of the AFL grand final – which could give Pies supporters some cause for concern.
Crisp has not missed a game since joining the club in 2015, but the prospect of a grand final day birth could end that streak.
Luckily for the fans, Mikayla and Crisp have decided that the 29-year-old reigning best and fairest winner will play, even if it means missing the birth.
Father’s Day is a very special day. It means so much to me. Last night the girls gave me flowers and it melted my heart. It’s just a great feeling to know that I’m going to bring a third child into the world,” he said News Corp.
“Honestly, it’s probably this month. She’s 35 weeks but she’s measuring a little ahead (on schedule) so we’ll see how it goes. It’s the last Father’s Day as a father of two.

“It’ll probably be around the time (of the grand final), but we’ve had that conversation where she was right to play for me and we’d have a lot of family for help, so we’ve had that discussion.”
Crisp also spoke for the first time about the lewd video of his meeting with the AFL’s integrity unit earlier this year.
Footage shared on social media without his permission showed a person scrolling through several Snapchat screenshots, many of which clearly showed Crisp’s face.
The clip contained explicit photos, crude commentary and references to illegal substances.
At one point in the video, which Daily Mail Australia has not published, the person swiping through the photos can be heard saying, “Wait for it, wait for it” before an image of a man holding his genitals appears.
An image in the message reportedly sent by Crisp shows what appears to be an image of the Magpies star above a caption that reads, “You young girls are my little s**ts.” I’ll tell you what to do.’
The AFL did not penalize Crisp, saying the player had admitted to consensually sending the photos to another person several years ago and acknowledged that “the content and his language, regardless of the setting, were extremely inappropriate.”
Crisp says the drama has brought him and his wife Mikayla closer together.
‘(Mikayla) is great. She’s the one I was most worried about,” he said.
“It affects the family, but given how strong it made her, we’re still extremely strong now, and it probably made us stronger as well. And we all survived while she was pregnant,” he said.
“I’ve seen her appear at the end of the tunnel, as brave as she is, confident and really owning it, and a wonderful mother and wife.
Crisp first spoke about the video controversy that rocked the couple earlier this year and saw him meet with the AFL’s integrity unit.

“It’s been a long year, but a great year for the football club and we’d like to end it well and celebrate as a football club and as a family.”
Crisp also believes he is a better person after going through the turmoil.
‘A hundred percent. I feel like I can be myself a little bit more,” he said.
“Same as Mikayla. A little more of not caring what other people say. That’s a great attitude to have. And just worry about the people who care about you and the people who matter most.
‘I’ve learned that you can go through a lot, but you’re never alone. The people close to you mean so much. I already know, but you appreciate that support more.’
