Emilia Clarke dazzles in black sequin dress as she receives the Nouvel Hollywood award at the Deauville American Film Festival

Emilia Clarke gave a glam showing at the 49th Deauville American Film Festival in France on Sunday.

The Emmy Award nominee beamed from ear to ear as she accepted the prestigious Nouvel Hollywood award at the annual event.

The star, 36, proudly posed with the award ahead of the presentation of her latest film.

Emilia was pictured receiving the award from French director Alexandre Aja, member of the Jury of Revelations, ahead of the presentation of her film.

Dazzling in a sequined black dress, the star showed off her slim physique in the dress with a plunging neckline.

The actress seemed in high spirits as she attended the movie premiere of her latest project The Pod Generation.

Showing off her natural beauty, the star tucked her dark brown locks behind her eyes and kept her makeup fairly natural apart from a striking red lip.

To accessorize the fit, she wore a pair of pendant pearl earrings and elevated her height with a pair of simple black heels.

Emilia stars alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor in the science fiction romantic comedy written and directed by Sophie Barthes.

Set in the not-so-distant future, the film follows Rachel (Emilia) and Alvy (Chiwetel) as tech giant Pegazus is offering couples the option to share their pregnancies through detachable artificial wombs or pods.

And so begins Rachel and Alvy’s wild ride to parenthood in this brave new world.

The 49th edition of the Deauville American Film Festival kicked off Friday and runs through Sunday, September 10.

It’s film festival season, as the 80th Venice Film Festival also kicked off earlier this week and Toronto is gearing up.

Still, the much-anticipated events won’t have the usual Hollywood gloss due to the writers and actors’ strike that has paralyzed Hollywood for several weeks.

Venice has already felt the effects of the strike after Day two of the festival turned out to be a subdued event on Thursday as only a handful of stars showed up for the Ferrari premiere.

The festival marks the start of awards season and regularly produces big favorites for the Oscars. Eight of the past eleven Oscars for Best Director went to films that debuted in Venice.

But while it usually attracts the biggest names in Hollywood, stars are avoiding the event this year because the SAG-AFTRA strikes have prevented them from promoting their work there.

The writers’ union, the WGA, went on strike on May 2 and was followed on July 14 by SAG-AFTRA, the actors’ union.

It looks like Deauville will be similarly affected as stars Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Peter Dinklage and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have all reportedly canceled their visit despite supposedly receiving a Deauville Talent Award.
