Pregnant Adriana Lima shows off her growing baby bump in a figure-hugging black gown as she attends The Killer premiere at the 80th Venice Film Festival

Adriana Lima showed off her growing baby bump in a glamorous ensemble as she walked the red carpet of The Killer at Italy’s 80th Venice Film Festival.

The Brazilian supermodel, 42, who is five months pregnant, was the epitome of class in a sparkling backless black dress as she made her final public appearance in northern Italy.

The form-fitting garment featured a floor-length drag skirt that hid her shoes as it flew gracefully behind her.

The former Victoria’s Secret angel created a storm when she further accessorized the stunning look with some classy shades of black.

Adriana beamed in the spotlight while also wearing a dazzling double diamond necklace along with matching diamond rings and dangle earrings.

The runaway queen looked nothing short of sensational as she styled her brown locks into a low bun and left two wavy strands down to frame her stunning features.

She put on dark smokey eyes that accentuated the green of her eyes and pouted her lips with a soft, nude lipstick.

The runway sensation looked cheerful as she flaunted a big smile for the camera and exuded confidence as she posed for photographers.

Adriana was also captured posing alongside the president of the Venice Film Festival and famed film critic Alberto Barbera, as the duo looked happy on the red carpet.

The Brazilian stunner – who welcomed her third child in August 2022 – delighted fans with another striking ensemble on Saturday when she attended the Maestro premiere in Venice.

One of the few stars to attend the glitzy premiere, the fashion icon stunned in an elegant gold halterneck gown for the event, which also saw stars such as Lady Victoria Hervey and Isabella Huppert in attendance.

Notably absent from the occasion was Bradley Cooper, who stars in the film as composer Leonard Bernstein, as much of Hollywood is staying away from the red carpet due to the ongoing strike action by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA.

The Venice Film Festival kicked off Wednesday and normally some of Hollywood’s biggest stars grace the red carpet to promote their work.

This year, however, only a handful of independent productions are allowed to be promoted by their stars, with Venice confirming on Monday that Adam Driver and Jessica Chastain will still appear at the festival.

Since July 17, Hollywood has come to a standstill as members of the SAG-AFTRA union joined the Writers Guild Of America to strike over growing concerns over the use of artificial intelligence and streaming residues.

According to Varietyhas obtained interim exemptions from SAG-AFTRA for a select list of films premiering in Venice, as they are independent productions not produced by AMPTP members.

As the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike enters its 45th day of protests, many well-known actors have shown solidarity with striking actors by taking one (or more) of the following actions: expressing support for the strikes; joining picket lines in LA, New York City; and donating/distributing water bottles and/or food to the picketers.

Well-known names participating in the picket lines in Los Angeles or New York City include Jason Sudeikis, Susan Sarandon, Vanessa Hudgens, Mandy Moore, Logan Lerman, America Ferrera, and Josh Gad, to name a few.

British actors’ union Equity held rallies in London and Manchester on 21 July in support of SAG-AFTRA Strike. Brian Cox, Jim Carter, Hayley Atwell, David Oyelowo and Oscar-nominated actress Imelda Staunton were in attendance.

While there has been little movement in talks between the AMPTP and SAG-AFTRA, talks with the WGA seem to have reached a stalemate.

The sides have not met since August 18, when the AMPTP rejected a counteroffer from the WGA, and no move has been made since then to resume talks.

SAG-AFTRA told members in an email on Sunday that the negotiating committee is ready to return to the table “as soon as” but little progress has been made so far.

The Venice Film Festival: everything you need to know

The Venice International Film Festival is the oldest film festival in the world and opens its 80th edition on Wednesday.

Here’s everything you need to know…

WHEN IS THE FESTIVAL OF VENICE?

The festival opens on August 30 with the premiere of the Italian World War II film Comandante, directed by Edoardo De Angelis. The event will run until September 9 and will conclude with a Spanish-language Netflix drama “Society of the Snow.”

WHERE IS IT HOLD?

The festival takes place on the Lido of Venice – the so-called Venice Beach – a thin barrier island in the Venetian Lagoon, a short boat ride from the capital Venice. Unlike Venice itself, cars can access the Lido.

WHY IS IT MONITORED SO CAREFULLY?

The festival marks the start of awards season and regularly produces big favorites for the Oscars. Eight of the past eleven Oscars for Best Director went to films that debuted in Venice.

Movie stars and directors traditionally like to travel to the lagoon city to launch their films.

However, this year will be a little less sparkle than usual as the Hollywood actors’ strike will stop many stars from promoting their work.

WHICH FILMS ARE SELECTED FOR THE FESTIVAL?

There are several categories that make up the official selection of films shown, the best of which are those competing for the coveted Golden Lion.

This year’s 23 contenders, in order of showing, are:

ARE THERE MAJOR FILMS SHOWN OUTSIDE THE COMPETITION?

Like other festivals, Venice reserves a number of spots for interesting films that are screened out of competition.

This year’s offerings include The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial by American director William Friedkin, who passed away this month; Coup de Chance, Woody Allen’s first French-language film; ‘The Palace, by Roman Polanski; The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, a short feature film by Wes Anderson; Aggro Drift, directed by Harmony Korine and starring rapper Travis Scott.
