Ellie Goulding has shared a cryptic post about “embracing the present and moving on” following the breakup of her marriage to husband Caspar Jopling.
The 36-year-old singer uploaded to Instagram on Friday a poem written by Diego Perez called “The Way Forward.”
It comes after Ellie was pictured with millionaire Tory colleague Zac Goldsmith, who resigned in July, with sources saying the pair are “friendly.”
The poem read, “It’s heavy only because you decide to carry it over and over again.”

The Daily Mail previously revealed that Ellie and her husband, art dealer Caspar Jopling, 31, have been living separate lives for at least six months despite trying to stay together for the sake of their two-year-old son Arthur.
But after weeks of discussions about how to reveal their split, the pop star’s team finally revealed in July that they had spent some time apart, blaming their “hectic schedules” for the demise of their marriage.
The news came nearly four years after they married in a star-studded ceremony at York Minster in 2019 with guests including Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, James Blunt, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom.
Zac is also going through a marital breakup, and his divorce from second wife Alice, after more than a decade together, is expected soon.
But the stronger common bond between the two is their passion for the environment. They first met at the COP26 UN climate conference in Glasgow in November 2021 and kept in touch.
Seven months later, they were spotted having lunch together at the posh café The Garden in Covent Garden, central London, and later at The Wolseley restaurant in Mayfair.
In October 2022, they spent the evening at the same party at the exclusive London members’ club LouLou’s at 5 Hertford Street and reunited just weeks later for the next global climate change summit, COP27, in Egypt.

Writing about the event in The Guardian, the singer praised her friend: “I am attending a dinner with environment ministers and their teams from around the world, convened by Britain’s Zac Goldsmith.
‘You could tell they were tired, but plowed on. What surprises me about this group is that they never stop trying to get a better deal for nature.’
A friend told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Ellie and Zac have a common interest: saving the environment. They clearly know each other and talk away from their environmental work. They come from very different backgrounds, but have built up a friendship.’
A spokesperson for Ellie said: “It is completely untrue to say that Ellie speaks to Zac Goldsmith outside of work.”
Mr Goldsmith declined to comment.
