EXCLUSIVE: Kate Winslet’s daughter Mia, 22, is the spitting image of her Oscar-winning mother as she stars in Apple TV period drama about a rich American girl… 26 years after her mother made her name as a wealthy young woman in Titanic

Her mother made a name for herself at the exact same age in a period drama about a beautiful, rich American girl.

And here’s a first look at Kate Winslet’s daughter Mia, 22, one of the stars of Apple TV+’s adaptation of the Edith Wharton novel The Buccaneers.

She plays Lady Honoria Marabel alongside British actress Imogen Waterhouse, sister of model and actress Suki, and rising star Kristine Froseth, the protagonist of Nan St George. Christina Hendricks from Mad Men plays Nan’s mother.

Led by an all-female creative team, the eight-part series follows the journey of a group of young American girls who venture into 1870s London in search of real husbands.

Mia made her acting debut in the Bafta-winning Channel 4 drama I Am Ruth alongside her mother.

Kate Winslet won the Leading Actress Bafta in May this year and declared from the stage, “We did this together, kid!”

In a tearful acceptance speech, she continued, “There were days when it was agony for her to dig as deep as she did, sometimes in very frightening emotional territory, and it was breathtaking.

‘I Am Ruth is made for parents and their children, for families who feel they are being held hostage by the dangers of the online world.

‘For parents who would like to be able to communicate with their teenagers, but can no longer do so.

And for young people who have become addicted to social media and its dark sides, this doesn’t have to be your life.

To the people in power and to the people who can make a change: criminalize harmful content. Remove malicious content. We don’t want it. We want our children back.’
