Billie Eilish receives a Brit Billion Award during trip to London for a secret show after surpassing one BILLION UK streams

Billie Eilish received a Brit Billion Award on Wednesday after surpassing one billion UK streams.

The American singer, 21, was awarded the prize, calculated by the Official Charts Company, during a trip to London where she played a secret show.

At just 17 years old, Billie became the youngest female artist in UK chart history to score a No. 1 album with her debut When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?.

Four years later, she continues to top the UK charts, having once again reached number one in the Official Singles chart with What Was I Made For – her ninth UK Top 10 single.

The Grammy award-winning single Bad Guy alone has more than 300 million streams, while six other songs break the 100-meter mark.

The Brit Billion Award was launched in May and the first artists to receive the award include Swedish pop group Abba, British band Coldplay, R&B superstar Mariah Carey and the late singer Whitney Houston.

She won three BRIT Awards in three consecutive years for International Female Solo Artist in 2020 and 2021 and International Artist of the Year in 2022.

Billie’s UK fan base continues to grow and last week she became the youngest artist to top the bill at Reading and Leeds festival.

On Tuesday night, Billie put on a secret show at The Electric Ballroom in Camden.

She flashed a huge smile as she left the venue in a car, waving to the fans lining the street.

The singer wore a casual black Nike hoodie and was complemented by lots of chunky silver jewelry.

Billie showed off her sense of style while sporting her signature dark hair with colorful roots.

Billie performed at Reading and Leeds Festivals in Britain this weekend.

She joined Sam Fender, The Killers, The 1975, Foals and Imagine Dragons as headliners for this year’s event, with a performance in Leeds on Friday, followed by a Reading set on Sunday.

Last week, the Gen-Z favorite took the stage at Sziget Festival 2023 in Budapest, Hungary.

Together with her brother and co-worker Finneas, she is busy working on her third album.

Billie recently shared how she’s made a “big leap” between the ages of 18 and 21 since the release of her debut album.

On Dua Lipa’s ‘At Your Service’ podcast, the musician said of the music-making process: ‘Everything is different about it. I’ve been trying to compare lately, just because I’m used to doing it a different way.’

“And try to say, ‘It’s okay to do that. I’m okay. I still can; I’m still capable of it.'”

Discussing the transition from making music in her childhood home to working in Finneas’ basement studio for her latest album Happier Than Ever, the star felt the pair had “invented” the process.

Billie explained, “We were like, ‘We’ve got it all figured out, this is how we’re going to do it from now on, and it’s working really well.’

“And you know, touring for a year and a half, then coming back to it, and being much older — and not even much older, but again, the jump between 18 and 21 is a big jump.”
