The rest of the horse’s remains have yet to be found.
The house is only a few hundred meters from a popular river, playground and aged care center.
A neighbor said she woke up to the sound of news crews on the street before another neighbor told her about the disturbing incident.
“I hope they catch the bastards who did this,” she told The Advertiser.
Another neighbor said he left the quiet residential street for work at 6 a.m., not knowing what had happened.
“It’s usually such a quiet street, which is why I love living here,” he said.
“I’m shocked to think this happened here.”
The dumping of a severed horse’s head is known to be associated with gang activity in the underworld.
Daily Mail Australia does not suggest that the incident is related to underworld crime.
More to come.
