Saints tight end Jimmy Graham had a strong first half performance on Sunday night after his legal troubles earlier this month.

Graham, 36, was arrested Aug. 18 on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance after police found him driving, TMZ first reported.

The Saints told Mail Sport that a “medical episode” led to Graham’s arrest, with a doctor determining the five-time Pro Bowler had a “probable seizure.”

And after returning to practice last week, Graham turned back the years against the Texans as he caught three balls for 34 yards and a touchdown.

The tight end showed his athleticism with a 25-yard jump in the first quarter, before reeling in a three-yard score from Jameis Winston early in the second quarter.

The touchdown was Graham’s first in Saints colors since 2014 and tied the game at 7–7 before the Texans took a 10–7 halftime lead.

He rejoined the franchise last month, which drafted him in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

Earlier this month, TMZ reported that Graham was found erratic near a resort in Southern California.

It is alleged that he resisted arrest when police attempted to handcuff him, and that he was eventually apprehended on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, resisting, delaying and obstructing a police officer.

In a statement to Mail Sport on Saturday, the Saints said Graham “experienced a medical episode … which left him disoriented.”

It continued: β€œHe was taken into custody by local authorities and transported to a local hospital for examination on what Dr. John Amoss is a likely seizure, and he spent the night under medical supervision and testing.

Amoss met Graham at the hospital and is currently overseeing his care. He was released this morning and is with the team continuing preparations for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.”

Graham is guaranteed $1.2 million this season from the Saints, so it looks like he’ll probably make the team’s final 53-man roster.
