Days Of Our Lives alum and original Harley Quinn voice actress Arleen Sorkin passes away at the age of 67… as Mark Hamill and James Gunn lead tributes to ‘incredibly talented’ star

Arleen Sorkin – known for her roles on Days Of Our Lives and as the original voice actress of Harley Quinn – has reportedly passed away at the age of 67.

The sad news was first reported by voice actor Neil Kaplan, via Twitter on Saturday when he paid a heartbreaking tribute to the late star.

The news of her death comes after The Price Is Right star Bob Barker also passed away on Saturday at the age of 99.

Neil typed: “It broke my heart to hear… the original voice of Harley Quinn, Arlene Sorkin, has passed away. I loved her work as Headquarters and as Calliope in ‘Days of Our Lives.’

He included a throwback photo of Sorkin, as well as an animated photo of the iconic Harley Quinn character.

Shortly after Mark Hamill – who famously voiced Harley Quinn’s companion The Joker – and DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn wrote tributes to the “incredibly talented” star on social media.

Arleen voiced Quinn in the show titled Batman: The Animated Series, which first aired in 1992. Kevin Conroy, her and Hamill’s former co-star who had voiced Batman, passed away late last year in November.

The character of Harley Quinn was created by Arleen’s college friend, Paul Dini, and was inspired by Sorkin himself.

Besides portraying the villain in Batman: The Animated Series, the star also took on the role of Harley in other animated series such as The New Batman Adventures (1997-1999) and also Justice League (2003).

In addition to working in the animation business, the star also portrayed the character of Calliope Jones in the popular NBC soap opera Days Of Our Lives. She occasionally appeared on the show from 1984 to 2010.

She received four Soap Opera Digest Awards for her performance, as well as two Daytime Emmy Award nominations in 1988 and also 1989.

Other acting credits include the Fox series Duet, in which she played the role of Geneva from 1987 to 1989. From 1990 to 1992, she also took on co-hosting duties on America’s Funniest People.

Arleen is survived by her husband and television producer Christopher Lloyd, with whom she tied the knot in 1995. The couple welcomed two sons, Eli and Owen, into their marriage.

Notably, Lloyd was a producer of the popular sitcom series Frasier, and Arleen appeared on screen as a monkey owner in the final episode.

Born on October 14, 1995 in Washington DC, Sorkin began her long and successful career in the entertainment industry in the late 1970s by joining a cabaret in a comedy troupe called The High-Heeled Women.
