While not yet formally acknowledged by developer miYoHo, fans have taken to social media to report issues with some malicious players using third-party software to remove key items such as elemental totems, essentially preventing them from making any progress. even if they install and download a new version.
Although the issue seems to be limited to the Chinese Genshin impact Players for now, all players around the world are being warned not to join “a stranger’s co-op space until the bug is fixed”.

In another example, a geoppiler was completely removed from the game for one unlucky player.

“The new exploit has to do with removing someone’s world scout points (i.e. things like seele, chests, culi like hydroculus, and the like),” explains Redditor AntonioS3.
“There should be an elemental totem there in the first seconds of the video, but it’s not there because the guy actually removed it from his world. It’s actually a bug for the entire account and not just the client because later in the video video, he logs in with his cloud account to check, and they’re still not there, meaning his world/account is bricked and unable to get to 100%.β
The Redditor ends by warning all players (whether they play on the Chinese server or not) not to join strangers’ co-op lobbies “until the bug is fixed.”
