Swedish DJ Eric Prydz announces exclusive show in Melbourne as he prepares to join Christina Aguilera at Always Live event for ‘first and only time’

Swedish DJ Eric Prydz announced on Friday that he will be giving an exclusive show in Melbourne later this year.

The 47-year-old music producer, who rose to fame in 2004 with his hit single Call on Me, will be attending the Always Live event alongside stars like Christina Aguilera.

Typically a headliner for the world’s biggest festivals, DJ Prydz will bring his show HOLO to Australia on December 9 for one performance only.

He shared a 3D graphic poster on his Instagram, adding that Always Live would be the “first and only time HOLO comes to Australia.”

The Opus hitmaker is known for his incredibly immersive concerts featuring holographic 3D images on massive LED screens.

He has headlined major shows for festivals such as Coachella, Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Sonar and Ultra Miami.

So said Steve Smith, CEO of Always Love Herald Sun: ‘Eric Prydz is such a huge production. To have that exclusively in Melbourne is wow!’

“We have to work a lot harder to make sure we deliver a program that is as good, if not better, than last year.”

He continued, “We’re not fixated by anything, but we’ve always had the radar on.”

The announcement comes just days after it was revealed that Christina Aguilera will perform a concert in Australia for the first time in 15 years at the Always Live event.

The American pop star, 42, will perform in November as part of the Victorian government’s 17-day ‘Statewide Celebration of Contemporary Live Music’.

Now in its second year, this government-sponsored musical bash is set to get bigger and better.

Whether packed stadiums, intimate pubs or chic rooftops, there is something for every music lover.
