Bournemouth intend to step up their interest in Leicester City striker Patson Daka before the transfer window closes next week.

The Zambian international is valued at £25 million by the Foxes, and a loan offer from Everton was turned down earlier this summer.

Daka has not been involved in Leicester’s squad for the past two Championship games and head coach Enzo Maresca has admitted he left out some players due to speculation about their future.

The 23-year-old arrived at the King Power Stadium in June 2021 for a £23 million fee from Red Bull Salzburg.

Daka has since scored 15 goals in 74 games for Leicester, but was unable to prevent the club from being relegated from the Premier League last season.

However, his stock has remained high, with a number of clubs willing to give him another chance at England’s top flight.

Bournemouth has invested heavily since appointing Andoni Iraola as head coach in June, bringing in eight new players already.

Daka could sign for the Cherries this summer along with Tyler Adams, Alex Scott and Justin Kluivert.

After suffering a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield last time, the Iraola side will try to come back against Tottenham at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

Leicester are about to sign 24-year-old Turkish international Yunus Akgun from Galatasaray as a replacement for Daka.

The Foxes are currently tied for top of the Championship having won all three of their games so far this season.

They return to action on Saturday as they make the trip to South Yorkshire to face Rotherham United.
