Jurgen Klopp has insisted Liverpool have received no offers for Mohamed Salah amid reports of strong interest from Saudi Arabia.

But the Reds boss has admitted it is “not cool” for the Saudi transfer window to extend beyond the Premier League.

On Thursday, the Spanish media reported that the Saudi club Al-Ittihad wants to make the Egyptian the highest paid player in the Saudi Pro League and thus world football.

Relevo also claimed that 31-year-old Salah wants to leave Anfield and that his entourage has met with Al-Ittihad officials in Dubai.

Liverpool denied that star player Salah is for sale and Klopp reiterated this at his press conference on Friday ahead of Sunday’s Premier League trip to Newcastle United.

“It’s hard to talk about media stories because there’s nothing to talk about from our point of view,” Klopp said. Mo Salah is a Liverpool player.

‘There’s nothing there. If anything, the answer would be no (it’s not for sale).

‘My life philosophy is that I think of a problem when I have it. At the moment there is nothing.

“I told you if anything, the answer would be no.”

When asked if Salah is still committed to the Liverpool cause, Klopp replied: ‘100 per cent.’

While the summer transfer window in the Premier League and most of Europe closes on September 1, the Saudi Pro League will remain open until September 20.

It means the money-rich Saudi clubs may be able to snatch Premier League players after the deadline.

Of the Saudi spending, Klopp said: “It’s not cool for us, that’s clear. For example, if we want a Wigan player, we go there and pay the price. Same in the Bundesliga etc.

“Now there’s a next level and it’s not great, but it’s part of the business. Not sure if you can change that.

“What makes it impossible to deal with this is that our transfer market closes and they remain open. Then we play until January 1 and this is our selection, we have that problem.

“I remember something like that in Russia, long ago. That wasn’t crazy money at all.

“It’s new and challenging. I’m pretty sure FIFA could (change the Saudi deadline), but I’m not sure they want to.”
