Steven Gerrard’s winning streak as manager of Al-Ettifaq ended with a 1-1 draw against Al-Khaleej on Thursday night.
Portuguese winger Fabio Martins scored the opening goal of the game in the first half, as the away side’s lone shot on target resulted in a point.
Al-Ettifaq had more pageantry and controlled much of the match, but converted only one of their seven shots on target.
Vitinho pulled his side back into the game with a goal after 50 minutes, but failed to pull the hosts to a win.

It was the first time that Steven Gerrard’s team dropped points since arriving in Saudi Arabia
Jordan Henderson, who joined his former captain’s side from Liverpool this summer, received a booking just before half-time.
The tie puts Al-Ettifaq in fifth place in the league, while their opponents are in eleventh place after two draws and a win in their first three games.
Gerrard’s men then come into action against Damak on Saturday, September 2, while Khaleej takes on Al-Hazm on Tuesday.
Elsewhere on Thursday, Al-Hilal defeated Al-Raed 3-0 after a debut goal for Aleksandar Mitrovic.
