Days Of Our Lives star Louise Sorel ‘stirs up trouble’ with dramatic return as iconic villain Vivian after Victor’s death
Louise Sorel is back on Days Of Our Lives with the sole purpose of ‘stirring up trouble’.
The 83-year-old actress, best known for her role as Vivian Alamain on the long-running soap opera, will make a dramatic return to the series on September 8, three years after her last appearance on Days Of Our Lives.
Plot-wise, her iconic soap character will appear after the death of her on-screen husband, Victor Kiriakis, who was played by the late John Aniston, according to the late. People.
The last posthumous appearance of Jennifer Aniston’s late father on the famous soap was in September 2022.
The show killed off John’s iconic in-universe crime boss character by having Victor die in a plane crash off the coast of the Mediterranean – hence the reason for Vivian’s return to the show.

She’s back: The well-known soap opera actress has returned to Days Of Our Lives several times to reprise her role as Vivian
Louise first appeared on Days Of Our Lives in 1992 and played Vivian until the turn of the millennium in 2000, returning several times to reprise her role from 2009 to 2011 and from 2017 to 2018.
The relationship between Vivian and Victor was tense from the start, with the former initially only wanting to marry Victor for his money and power.
However, she soon realized she had real feelings for the mobster when Victor started pursuing Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow).
Vivian, ever the schemer, not only plotted to get the embryo Kate and Victor had wanted to use for an in vitro pregnancy, but she also disguised herself as Kate for her wedding to Victor.
As a result, she tricked the criminal mastermind into legally marrying her instead of Kate.
Ironically, after the couple divorced, Victor was forced to ask for Vivian’s hand in marriage a second time (without the deceptions of their first marriage), in order to get Vivian to stop killing Melanie, Victor’s daughter-in-law.
However, after the couple got coupled for the second time, Vivian found herself becoming dangerously jealous of her husband’s newest lover, Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers).
Even when she tried to bury Maggie alive, Vivian found herself six feet underground instead – though she was rescued by one of her lackeys, the vile move spelled the end of her second marriage to Victor.

Saying goodbye: John Aniston is remembered posthumously in the series that made him a star, with Victor dying in a momentous plane crash in Days Of Our Lives, leading to Vivian’s return to Salem
While it’s unknown what Vivian is up to while awaiting her return to Salem in Days Of Our Lives, it’s highly likely that Victor’s savvy ex-wife has returned to read his will.
Ken Corday, the co-creator of Days Of Our Lives, told People after John’s passing, “There is no question that all of us at Days will mourn this great and profound loss. John was an icon, but even more so a pillar of strength and unity for our Days of Our Lives community.”
He added: “He, along with our ‘Victor Kiriakis’, will forever be in our hearts.”
It remains to be seen whether the Sept. 8 episode of Days Of Our Lives will be Vivian’s first and last Salem return to close around the death of her ex-husband.
Days Of Our Lives fans can see what happens when Vivian appears on Peacock at 6 a.m. ET on Friday, September 8.
