Mark Meadows is BOOKED into jail: Trump’s chief of staff surrenders in Georgia after being given a $100,000 bond

Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has been arrested at the Fulton County Jail on $100,000 bond.

He appeared Thursday afternoon before the Friday afternoon deadline.

Meadows tried to delay his arrest while trying to move his case from the state court to the federal system.

But a judge ruled on Wednesday that District Attorney Fani Willis could have had him arrested if he hadn’t shown up.

Prosecutors noted that Donald Trump, Meadows’ White House boss, “voluntarily agreed to surrender himself to state authorities, while other suspects have already surrendered.”

Jeffrey Clark, a former Justice Department attorney who has yet to surrender, also received $100,000 bail.

Clark and Meadows’ cases mirror each other. Clark also requested that his case be moved to the federal system and requested that his surrender be delayed.

He, too, was told to turn himself in before the Friday afternoon deadline.

Meadows immediately had a criminal record in the Fulton County system detailing his height and weight (six feet and 240 pounds, respectively).

It described him as having blue eyes and “gray or partially gray” hair.

Trump will turn himself in Thursday afternoon at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta.

231,000,000 views, and counting. The biggest social media video EVER, more than double the size of the Super Bowl! But excuse me, I have to get ready to go to Atlanta, Georgia, where murder and other violent crimes have reached a level never seen before, to be ARRESTED by a far left, lowlife prosecutor , Fani Willis, for a PERFECT PHONE CALL, and having the guts to challenge a WRONG & STOLLING ELECTION. THE EVIDENCE IS INCREDIBLE!’ Trump posted on Truth Social Thursday afternoon.

The “views” he was referring to were his Wednesday night interview with Tucker Carlson, which was released at the same time as the Republicans’ first primary debate.

“ARREST TIME: 7:30 p.m.,” Trump added.

Nine of the nineteen co-conspirators charged have already been charged, mugshot taken and bailed.

Meadows came in 10th. And Trump is expected to be the 11th.

Eight others have yet to surrender.

Trump will face the same procedure Thursday night if he surrenders to Fulton County authorities. The former president is expected to be released on $200,000 bail on Thursday.

Willis has charged all of the defendants with racketeering, claiming they were involved in a “criminal enterprise” to overturn Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory in Georgia.

None of the 19 have yet filed pleas because the arraignment process is separate from the Georgia booking process.

Willis has asked for these arraignments to take place the week of September 5. The defendants can waive their appearance at the trial, where they answer the charges against them. Lawyers may speak on their behalf.

Meadows faces charges for his actions in the aftermath of the 2020 election.

Then-White House Chief of Staff Meadows arranged the phone call between Trump and Georgian Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, asking then-President Raffensperger to “find” enough votes to beat Joe Biden.

Meadows was on the phone when Trump made his request. He also observed the auditing of absentee ballot signatures in Georgia’s Cobb County.

A judge will hear Meadows’ request for a transfer to federal court on August 28.

Willis argues that this should be dismissed because the conduct in question was “political activity” outside of his official duties as Trump’s chief of staff.

Meadows’ legal team had asked Willis to postpone his arrest until after Monday’s hearing on a possible move to federal court.

But Willis rejected Meadows’ plea.

“I’m not granting an extension,” she told Meadows’ legal team.

“I have given people two weeks to surrender to the court. Your client is no different than any other criminal defendant in this jurisdiction. The two weeks were a huge courtesy.’

And she said an arrest warrant would be issued if he did not comply.

“Friday at 12:30 am I will file arrest warrants into the system,” she added.

Clark was a Justice Department attorney who drafted a letter the month after the 2020 election falsely stating that the DoJ had “identified significant concerns” about voter fraud in Georgia and other states.

The letter was never sent, but urged Georgian officials to convene a special session of the state legislature to overturn Biden’s victory.

Trump had considered appointing Clark as acting attorney general, but top DoJ officials threatened to resign en masse if that happened. It never went through.
