Harry Garside’s ex Ashley Ruscoe watches him in Bondi before his date with mystery new girlfriend

Harry Garside has parted ways with his ex-girlfriend Ashley Ruscoe and was enjoying a quiet café date with his new love in Bondi… but it seems his former partner is still interested in what he’s up to.

Ruscoe, lurking just a few feet away, was seen chatting with a friend behind a car on Campbell Parade – laughing as they watched Garside as he waited for his new lad to arrive.

A gym-clad Ruscoe – who was accused of assaulting Garside last month – watched with awe as the 2018 Commonwealth Games lightweight champion tapped his laptop on Thursday, before finally leaving when she spotted a photographer taking pictures of her .

Shortly after she left, Garside was joined by his new girlfriend, whose identity remains unknown, for coffee.

The couple in love locked lips as they made the most of the sunny winter day, before sauntering away with their arms around each other’s shoulders.

Last month, Daily Mail Australia exclusively revealed that Ruscoe was charged with assault – just months after she falsely accused her Olympic star ex of the same alleged crimes.

The 35-year-old was arrested on July 12 and taken to Waverley Police Station in eastern Sydney, where she was charged with domestic violence-related offenses against Garside, including common assault and stalking.

“Officers associated with the Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command conducted an investigation into an alleged domestic violence incident at a home in Bellevue Hill on Wednesday, March 1, 2023,” NSW Police said.

“After further investigation, police went to the Bellevue Hill home around 4:45pm today (Wednesday, July 12, 2023) and arrested a 35-year-old woman.

“She was taken to Waverley Police Station and charged with common assault (DV) and stalking/harassment with intent to cause fear, physical harm etc.”

Ruscoe appeared before the Downing Center local court in Sydney on July 19. She and her lawyer pleaded not guilty and the case had a “disturbing” history. The case will be brought back to court on August 30.

The charges against Ruscoe, a boxing and martial arts instructor, came next Garside was also charged with common assault following an investigation into domestic violence claims between the couple.

In early May, the boxer was arrested by NSW police in dramatic scenes at Sydney airport as he returned home with his father after taping the reality TV show I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in South Africa

On March 25, the same day he originally left for South Africa without any communication with the outside world until his elimination, Ruscoe approached police to express fears for her safety.

“I categorically deny the allegations of violence and dispute the statement given to the police,” Garside said at the time.

All charges against him were dropped in June.

Garside said in a statement that he had been informed by the “police prosecutor that they had dropped all cases against me.”

“Today I was proven right,” he said.

Daily Mail Australia obtained video and audio recordings in the days following the dramatic announcement that ultimately led to police dropping the domestic violence charges against Garside and proving his innocence.

It is clear from the recordings that Garside was not aggressive towards Ruscoe.

The 26-year-old has not fought since winning his third professional fight in May last year and was on Fox Sports Wednesday night to provide color commentary on Nikita Tszyu’s fight card.

The lawsuit threatened Garside’s potential place in Australia’s boxing squad for the 2024 Paris Olympics, but after the charges were dropped, the 25-year-old appeared clearly ready to defend the bronze he won in Tokyo in 2021.

However, in June the Daily Telegraph reported that a breach of contract claim by his former manager could see Garside miss out on the Olympics.

Peter Mintrevski Jr. hired Adam Houda to take legal action. The star’s former manager had previously seen a $50,000 settlement offer rejected by Garside.

A spokesperson for Garside said they hoped to finalize talks with his former manager as soon as possible.

The boxer signed a three-year management deal with Mitrevski to turn pro after the Tokyo Games, but parted ways after just six months, during which he fought three times.

Mitrevski claims he paid the fighter a sign-up fee, provided him with a car and put him in a position where he earned commentary opportunities on Fox Sports before moving on to I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Boxing Australia’s president Phil Goodes confirmed that Garside should be allowed to compete in the Olympic qualifiers.

“I understand that there is a contractual agreement between Harry and his manager and promoter that he must abide by,” Goodes told News Corp.

‘Our CEO has sent him a letter about this.

“Harry has to provide proof that his problems have been solved.

“We have not disqualified anyone at this time, but we have asked for this to be clarified ahead of an amateur competition.
