Mitchell Moses is hammered over his shock confession about his baby daughter

Mitchell Moses has taken a beating after the gun-toting halfback admitted to changing his 11-month-old daughter’s diaper only once.

The Parramatta star welcomed daughter Aspyn with fiancé Bri last year, but missed the birth when he played in a preliminary final for the Eels in North Queensland.

And when Moses discussed life as a dad on Triple M last weekend, he made the stunning revelation that he hasn’t been up to par on diaper duty.

When asked by Ryan Girdler, “Are you at least changing diapers?” Moses replied, “No, I have no Girds. I can not do it.

“I did one when she was born because the nurse just about came in and let me do it, so I felt like I had to do it, but that was the only time. Like I said, my wife is over everything, she’s very good. I’m very happy to have her.’

Girdler replied, “Mate, of course you can (change diapers). Come on, roll up your sleeves brother, you’re missing something.’

Unsurprisingly, fans on Twitter didn’t side with Moses in the diaper debate, with the footy star getting hammered for his outrageous contribution.

“Why would you admit this on the radio?” said one fan.

Another added: ‘Isn’t it great to have the choice? Pick and choose what suits you to do. Poor woman has two babies.’

“Missed delivery, didn’t change diapers,” said a third. “Next, he wants to bring back the six o’clock flush.”

Moses missed Aspyn’s arrival as he had to fly to Townsville last year for the Eels Preliminary Final against the North Queensland Cowboys.

Coach Brad Arthur told his best playmaker to come home for the birth – even if it meant losing the game he was meant to win.

‘What are you doing here? Get out of here,’ Arthur said at the time.

But Moses said he couldn’t let his teammates down and instead witnessed the birth of his child via FaceTime.

“I just looked at him (Arthur) and said, ‘I can’t leave.’ I can’t leave these guys alone considering how hard we’ve worked all year,” Moses said.

Understandably, for the first time, Mother Gardoni was not happy with Moses’ team-first attitude.

“She was a little nasty at first when she was deployed and said that’s how it’s going to be,” recalls Moses.

‘But she understood. She supported me through everything.

“But I have a family now – this is all for them.”
