The Block 2023: Feud is already brewing between judge Darren Palmer and new co-star Marty Fox – just weeks after the last hit season
The latest series of the popular renovation series The Block only aired earlier this month.
But viewers of The Channel 9 show think they’ve already seen a feud between Darren Palmer and the programme’s newest judge, Marty Fox.
In a Facebook fan group for the show, one viewer wrote, “Every time he spoke, Darren Glazed looked at the floor/different direction.”
Another agreed, replying, “He wriggled, didn’t he?” With (Neale) Whitaker out of the way, I think he thought it was time.”
There are mixed opinions from fans about newcomer Marty, with some saying he’s “smooth to the eye” while others think he’s too harsh.

In the fan group, a viewer wrote after Sunday night’s episode, “I think the judging this year is cruel, these are amateurs,” not interior designers, give them a break. Your words are cruel and demoralizing.”
However, some disagreed, with a response saying, “Omg… what is it with people these days??? The participants participated in a competition.. to be judged!!! The jury will be critical!

While Neale is still on The Block’s new series, he’s taken a step back as newcomer Marty joined Shaynna Blaze and Darren Palmer as a semi-regular judge.
Neale said he shortened his judging weeks to spend more time with his partner David, who recently had some “serious health issues.”
“I am very proud to be completing my 17th season as a judge on The Block. It’s an amazing privilege to be a part of this iconic show for 13 years,” he wrote on Instagram.
“For the 2023 season, however, I put family first and shortened my judging weeks. My partner of 20 years, David, started having serious health problems earlier this year and my priority was to spend more time at home.”

Newcomer Marty is the CEO of WHITEFOX Real Estate.
He began building his career as a real estate agent at the age of 21, before starting his own agency.
Fans may remember the slick businessman from the show’s 2020 season, when he sold Harry and Tash Pavlou’s beautiful home.
This season of The Block is filmed in Hampton East, a bayside suburb of Melbourne, just 9 miles from the CBD.
