Influencer Caleb Coffee who has 12 million followers begs for cash to pay his hospital bills after he plunged 80feet off Hawaii cliff onto lava rocks – even though his family has done ads for Kellogg’s and Nintendo

Teen influencer Caleb Coffee and his family are asking for donations from fans to help cover medical costs after the 18-year-old plunged 60 to 80 feet from a Hawaiian cliff — despite dozens of brand deals over the years.

Coffee, who has a 1 million Instagram follower and a 12 million TikTok follower, was transported to the ICU last week after falling on lava rocks during an illegal hike with friends near Koiawe Stream in Waimea. The White Road walk passes through both government and private property and while fairly popular with the locals, it is illegal.

He suffered a “broken femur, elbow, wrist and multiple gouges and burns,” and his father Jason and sister Peyton – also influencers – encouraged followers to donate to a GoFundMe to cover his medical expenses, which are already nearly $23,000.

“Unfortunately, Caleb had no medical insurance and we are unable to pay these medical bills, so we are letting me fund this,” the family wrote.

Influencers with over a million followers can be expected to rake in $10,000 to $15,000 per sponsored post they make.

In recent years, the family has participated in sponsored content deals with brands such as Jimmy Dean, Discovery Plus, Kellogg’s Cereal, Nintendo’s Pokemon, and Hasbro Games – leading some users to wonder why the family can’t afford the hospital bills themselves.

‘You are clearly not a poor family. Why should we pay for Caleb’s health care when you were too irresponsible to insure him?’ wrote Steven Pierce, a London-based food influencer and journalist.

Caleb Coffee, a TikTok star with more than 11 million followers on the social media site, is currently in an ICU after falling off a cliff and landing straight into a bed of lava rocks in Hawaii.

It is not clear why Caleb, who still lives with his parents, sister and brother, was not medically insured.

Caleb and his sister Peyton, who has 2.4 million Instagram followers and 16 million on TikTok, regularly participate in paid ads shared mainly on their father Jason Coffee’s page.

The family has been documenting parts of their lives online for years, and the two eldest children in particular have built up a huge following of people interested in following their various outdoor adventures.

Caleb in particular is known for his dramatic physical stunts and intense focus on physical fitness.

Recently, the family moved back to Hawaii from Texas where they had previously lived for a few years.

While the exact finances of the family are unknown, comments came in from users who seemed surprised that the family needed help.

“Will you fund me for a TikTok family?!” one user wrote.

“YOU WILL NEVER SET UP A GO FUND for me,” another wrote.

‘Prayers for your family. Your parents have several houses, right? Sell one of the houses to pay his medical bills,” said a third.

Jason Coffee has been an online influencer of sorts for nearly two decades. He started including his kids in his content when they were very young and he still had a Vine account.

Seven emergency units were sent to rescue Caleb, though multiple attempts to reach him were thwarted by inclement weather before a helicopter could reach him and transport him to hospital in critical condition.

In a post on his father’s Instagram page on Thursday, Caleb updated fans about his condition.

“It’s day two after falling off a 25-meter cliff. All the doctors thought my spine or neck was broken. I just came out of an MRI and somehow, miraculously, it’s not broken, just irritation,” he said.

“I personally can’t think of any other explanation for that than thank you, Jesus.”

Later, Jason Coffee posted a more detailed update on his son’s condition.

“(Caleb) is stable, conscious, talking and in good spirits,” he wrote on his Instagram story.

“He has a small fracture in his neck (he has full movement in his toes and fingers). He has a broken femur (surgery put a bar through it), two plates and 10 screws in his right elbow, broken left wrist, stitches in forehead and lip.

Jason said his son “just had another MRI” to get a closer look at his neck.”

They initially said he had a “spine fracture, fractured femur, elbow, wrist and multiple grooves and burns throughout his body.”

“The medics and everyone tell us he is lucky to be alive and one of the fittest,” his sister, Peyton, wrote on Instagram.

“If you can’t donate, he would appreciate your prayers. He’s thankful to be alive, but he’s in excruciating pain from now on.”

“We thank you for your prayers, Mahalos,” she added
