News of a 71-year-old quarterback “shredding” the Seattle Seahawks secondary has spilled onto social media, where Snoop Dogg, Will Ferrell and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell expressed their sarcastic disapproval.
The replacement quarterback was none other than Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, whose reputation for physical fitness was only bolstered by the viral footage of him beating Seattle’s secondary in some training camp drills.
In response to the clip, posted to the team’s Twitter page earlier this week, Carroll received light-hearted criticism from Snoop and Ferrell — two well-known USC fans who already know the former Trojans head coach.
“Pete Carroll, guts of you to insult your players like that,” said 51-year-old Snoop in a separate video. “You should be punished, dog. I thought you were better.
“On behalf of Death Row Records, you keep treating those players like this, keep abusing them… I show up and brag… because you know I’m a player,” Snoop continued. “Get your ass together Pete. I don’t want to, but I will.’

Will Ferrell knows Carroll for his time as Trojans head coach. Ferrell is a USC alum
The viral response then cut to Goodell.
“Hey coach, I got a video of one of your practices earlier today that I’m very concerned about,” Goodell, 64, said. “I keep hearing about the abuse you put on your defensive secondary, tearing them up every day with your passes and your running.”
Then it was Ferrell’s turn to smash this joke into the ground.
‘What are you doing?’ asked Ferrell, a 56-year-old USC alum. “These are young men out there. They fight for their livelihood, for their jobs. And you make them look like little b******. You must withdraw. Because if you make them look like little b******, I’ll make you my b*t. And you know I will. Go back b****. Get out.’
Carroll, one of only three football coaches to win an NCAA title and a Super Bowl, closed the video with his own reaction.
Snoop Dogg, another USC fan, knew Carroll from his time with the Trojans
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell also joined in the (annoying) prank
“Whoa, I had no idea you guys felt that way,” Carroll said. “Well, either you’re in or you’re not.”
Despite his accurate throws, Carroll never played quarterback in his youth. Instead, he was a safety at Pacific, earning All-conference honors in 1971 and 1972.
Since then, Carroll has served as head coach of the New York Jets and New England Patriots before finally enjoying some success at USC from 2001 to 2009, winning a pair of national championships.
NCAA violations resulted in many of Carroll’s accomplishments at USC being vacated, but the Associated Press continues to recognize his Trojans as the 2004 national champions.
