Coronation Street fans have shared their fear of Tyrone Dobbs after discovering that his long-lost mother Cassie is hiding a huge secret.
The fan favorite was stunned to learn his mother was still alive after years of believing her dead, and furiously confronted his grandmother Evelyn for lying about her existence.
After returning to Weatherfield, Cassie (Claire Sweeney) was determined to get clean so she could reconnect with her son, leading Tyrone (Alan Halsall) and Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) to believe she was free of her drug habit.
She claimed that Evelyn blamed her for her own father’s death, and that she was living on the streets when she became pregnant.
Cassie insisted she had been clean for months and did her best to isolate Tyrone from Evelyn, insisting she come to stay with him.

But while Cassie was enjoying dinner with Tyrone in his living room, viewers discovered she was hiding an explosive secret.
Upon opening her bag, it was revealed that Cassie hid a box of nerve pain medication pregabalin, the exact drug she claimed to have given up.
Viewers were horrified that Cassie lied to her son and were quick to predict that she might cut her way into his life to steal his money.
One tweeted, “Cassie is definitely going to try to strip Tyrone of all his money so she can buy drugs again?
A second added, “That Cassie has a sinister look in her eye and there’s Pregabalin in her purse.”
A third wrote: ‘My heart breaks for Evelyn. Cassie is manipulating Tyrone, you can see it. Now Evelyn is totally isolated from her family.’
Viewers were in tears following Wednesday’s episode after Tyrone found out the truth about his “dead” mother.
Tyrone believed for years that his birth mother was dead, after telling his grandmother Evelyn Plummer (Dame Maureen Lipman).

But he eventually discovered Evelyn’s heartbreaking lies when Cassie walked in and dropped the bombshell: “I’m your mother.”
Tyrone grew up believing his mother was Jackie Dobbs (Margi Clarke), but in 2018 research into his ancestry brought him into contact with his grandmother Evelyn for the first time.
It was then that he discovered evidence that Evelyn’s daughter Cassandra was in fact his biological mother, only to be told that Cassie had died of a drug overdose.
Viewers took to Twitter to share their heartbreak at the emotional scenes, admitting they were left in tears.
One wrote, “Poor Tyrone. So much to take in all at once, kids turning goths, grandma lying to him & mother coming back from the dead…”
Another said: Poor Tyrone – The truth has torn his family apart. I hope he doesn’t abandon Evelyn. Yes, she made mistakes, but all she did was protect Tyrone.’
