England men’s captain Harry Kane has sent a message of support to the Lionesses ahead of their historic World Cup final against Spain on Sunday.

The 30-year-old, who scored on his debut for German giants Bayern Munich after a big-money summer move, praised the performance of an England side that has risen to every challenge so far.

He urged them to get the job done and claim a first league crown, in what will be their toughest test against a star-studded Spanish outfit.

“Hello Lionesses just wanted to wish you the best of luck for the World Cup final on Sunday.” He said in one video posted on Instagram. ‘I’ll look. It’s been a great journey so far and you should be really proud of yourself.

“We’re all behind you, we’re all supporting you, and we know you can do it. So go win that World Cup and take home that trophy. All the best!’

England’s thrilling 3-1 win against hosts Australia saw them finish first in the semi-finals of each of the last two tournaments.

Sarina Wiegman’s side is bidding to become the country’s first senior football team to win the world title since 1966, after capturing the European title last summer.

En route to that win, the Lionesses secured a nail-biting knockout stage victory against Sunday’s opponents courtesy of late hits from Ella Toone and Georgia Stanway.

However, La Roja has changed a lot since then due to serious unrest in the camp following a riot of up to 15 players ahead of the tournament.

Still, Jorge Vilda’s side are the league’s top scorers with 17 goals in six games and looked dangerous despite the many omissions.
