Meet my England team-mates! Coffee-lover Alex Greenwood has an unbelievable left foot, hyper Lucy Bronze is a true warrior and Keira Walsh is the world’s best midfielder
England will take on Spain in their first ever World Cup final on Sunday and the country will be watching.
Sarina Wiegman’s side aims to become the third women’s team to hold both the European Championship and the World Cup at the same time, taking their undisputed place at the top of the world.
It won’t be an easy match. Spain are an exciting team with ambitions of their own and they will be looking to upset Lionesses in their own first-ever final.
But Wiegman will get her team ready for the game as they take to the grass in Sydney in front of the nation.
Former England captain Steph Houghton introduces readers to her England teammates ahead of the game.

Mary Earps
Great shot stopper, really good distribution. Dominating the last two tournaments. Mary is really bubbly and quite chilled away from the pitch.
Lucy bronze
Absolute winner. warrior. Leads with her performances. Off the field, I think she would agree that she’s a little different. She’s just a little weird. When everyone is chilling, she’ll be the one who’s really hyper.
Alex Greenwood
Technician, incredible left foot. Good in one-on-one situations. Loves her coffee and likes to keep fit. She’s an incredible person. It doesn’t matter where we go, whether there’s an away game or if we’re in Manchester, she’ll always ask to go for a coffee.
Millie Bright
Dominant, courageous, she wears her heart on her sleeve and puts her body on the line. Off the field she is absolute crackers! Really loyal and really bubbly. When she and Rachel Daly are together, no one else gets a word. She always brings the energy and isn’t afraid to say how she feels, which is what every team needs.

Brighton and Houghton have played together on defense for the Lionesses on several occasions
Lucy Bronze, meanwhile, brings a winner’s mentality to the side both on and off the pitch
Jesus Carter
Jess has improved season after season. She is so versatile and deceptively fast. She never gets beaten and if she plays back completely she can come forward and cause trouble. Off the field she has the most amazing smile ever. I can’t even explain what it sounds like. Rachel Dale
The top scorer of WSL is not doing bad as a left back! Versatile, athletic, gives everything. Off the field she is so funny, really sharp and witty. She is a sweet character. If you ever need someone to cheer you up, go to Rachel. A real Yorkie, with the accent. She is a big fan of Leeds.
Keira Walsh
She is the best midfielder in the world in my opinion. As a No. 6, her distribution, everything on the ball is fantastic, but her understanding of the game and her organization are very important. She sees things that others don’t see. Once you get to know her, she’s so funny.
‘Bulldozer’ Georgia Stanway will be a mainstay in England’s midfield for many years to come
Keira Walsh is regarded as the world’s best midfielder and has impressed in the tournament
Georgia Stanway
Bulldozer! Loves a tackle. She is the mainstay of this England team for years to come. She and Keira Walsh are thick as thieves. They feed on each other and joke around. She’s a real Barrow girl.
Ella Toon
She’s so creative. Technically sometimes you don’t see how good she is. She will end up being one of the best No. 10s in my opinion. She can pass and shoot. She thrives in the big games. Tooney is a real Manc.
Ella Toone has continued to thrive in the big games, scoring against Australia in the semi-finals
Toone and Alessio Russo – who has led the line well for England – are good friends off the pitch
Alessia Russo
I rate her so highly. She brings movement, pace and goals. She’s really effective in the last third. So grounded. She is always eager to learn and puts the team first. She continues to grow.
Lauren hemp
Speed demon. hemp. The last few games she was one of the best in the tournament. She can do a little bit of everything and she can run faster with the ball at her feet than I can without the ball! She can be quiet, but when you get her one-on-one, she’s so curious. She likes to get to know other people and their lives.
Lauren Hemp scored to put England 2-1 ahead against Australia and shone in the tournament
Returning from suspension, Lauren James has shown she can play for England
Lauren James
LJ becomes a superstar. We’ve seen that in the games she’s played. She makes football look easy whether playing wide or number 10. She takes the game by the scruff of the neck. She can be quiet, which is crazy considering how she is on the field. Many of the youngsters are very grounded and she certainly is.
Chloe Kelly
I love Chloe – I think she’s my favorite player. She loves football and will do anything to win. She brings the swagger! She just wants to improve and be the best and we see that every day in training. She is so caring and has been a wonderful friend to me for ages. QPR fan.
