The news comes after Cattrall was embroiled in a feud with her co-stars over the salary she received for her years of work on Sex in the City.

According to VarietyCattrall filmed her scenes for And Just Like That… in March without speaking to her former co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis.

Parker, Nixon and Davis all returned to reprise their roles from Sex in the City for the show.

It was reported Cattrall also didn’t speak to Michael Patrick King, the And Just Like That… showrunner, who also played a key creative role in Sex in the City.

Famous for playing the character of Samantha, the sexy go-getter on the hit series for six seasons between 1998 and 2004, Cattrall also appeared in two Sex and the City feature films.

But she declined to play Samantha in the third Sex in the City movie when she demanded more money after reportedly taking home $10 million for the second movie.

Meanwhile, Cattrall’s salary for Sex and the City was $350,000 per episode, while Sarah Jessica Parker, also a producer on the show, received $50 million for the first three seasons.

Last month, Cosmopolitan reported widespread speculation in the industry that given the friction between Cattrall and her former co-stars, the star would not appear in And Just Like That… for less than $1 million.

Fans have taken to social media to support Cattrall after the response to the Sex and the City spin-off has been largely disappointing.

“I feel like Michael Patrick King went up to her and said, ‘name your price,’ and she threw out a ridiculous number and a bunch of terms that she assumed they would never agree to,” writes one fan on Reddit and adds:

“Then they agreed and she was like ‘damn, now I have to do it’.”

‘I’d say a cool mil! As Charlotte once told Bunny, “I’m worth a million,” said another fan.

Anther fan was even bolder, writing, “The whole reboot has definitely been an absolute dumpster fire (IMO). I hope Sam can breathe some life into it.’

Meanwhile, someone expressed what many other original Sex in the City fans felt about the reboot.

“The show’s perspectives are kind of useless without Samantha,” the viewer said.

“She (Samantha) certainly had some problematic views and moments, but her cynicism and refusal to be vulnerable to and towards men was complex and compelling. The absence was noted.’
